Debenhams Set Of Four Red Cotton Napkins
Debenhams Set Of Four Red Cotton Napkins
Offered by Debenhams
Price: £6.00

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 12 Feb 2013
These napkins stain easy, after one wash looked faded and don't iron well! I have only used then once and am down one because of a stain. They were cheap though.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book whether you're a golfer or not, 13 Jun 2011
This is one of those books where you just can't believe that someone hasn't thought of the idea before.
The author has set himself the task of playing golf on eighteen different Scottish Islands and the book follows his adventures as he travels around the various islands meeting the locals and experiencing the courses.
He's doing the journey as a tribute to his dad who has recently passed away and the memories and little bits of biography that are woven into the story are very moving and well written. I'm not much of a golfer and I enjoyed this book for it's jokes, warmth and positive, life-affirming story.

Moon Palace
Moon Palace
by Paul Auster
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.19

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favourite novels, 3 Oct 2010
This review is from: Moon Palace (Paperback)
This is just a brilliant bit of storytelling.
I was gripped from the very first page and Auster weaves a totally compelling story out of deceptively simple elements.
excellent stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great little book!, 3 Oct 2010
I got this book as a gift from my wife (I have only recently started to get into whisky)
It's a brilliant guide to the (sometimes overwhelming) world of whisky.
Nicely designed and clearly laid out - the individual entries are interesting, witty and full of helpful pointers. There's even space to add your own thoughts on each whisky...
I might not manage all 101 but I'm going to give it a try!

On Fire with Fergie
On Fire with Fergie
by Stuart Donald
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, 13 Aug 2010
This review is from: On Fire with Fergie (Paperback)
This ia a great book.
The author conveys his relationship with his father really well as they enjoy the highs and endure the lows of supporting their team.
There are moments of great humour, drama and tension as well as a few tear-jerking bits.
Thoroughly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh and learn!, 12 Dec 2008
I've been dipping into this book for a week now and I'm very impressed by the amount of facts I've learned about Scottish history (and by the amount of times I've laughed out loud!).
There are chapters on politics, music, geography, royalty, sport, literature and Food & Drink - in fact there's something about just about everything Scottish really...
It's a very entertaining read.
