This is by far the best interpretation on harpsichord of Bach's "Well-tempered clavier". Gustav Leonhardt's playing is nothing but superb. Very well recorded between '62 and '72, the sound of this cd is much better than you expect from a late 80's digital remaster, resulting in a warm, dynamic and detailed sound.
I strongly recommend this cd as well as the second book (even better...), before it gets unavailable.

This review is from: ALIEN [Soundtrack] (Audio CD)
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away".... I still remember when I first got the ALIEN soundtrack. It was a cassette (late 80`s), and it was my very first soundtrack. Needless to say, that tape soon got damaged and by the time I wanted to get it on cd it was out of print. So imagine when I knew about this edition!!!
We all know that usually the re-editions have nothing really new (and believe me, if it had just been the same SILVA SCREEN edition I'd been happy to get it), but this is one of those rare occasions when dreams come true.
This new edition contains 2 cd's: on the first one is the original score composed by Jerry Goldsmith, which contains music not heard on the original edition, plus alternate takes.
The second cd contains the original album and outtakes.
Besides, there is a GREAT booklet with lots of information about this magnificent score: detailed cue information, notes about the recording sessions and the process of the release of this new edition...
There are not enough words to describe this great edition, so go and get a copy before it gets out of print, and hear by yourself what has been hailed as one of the greatest scores ever!!
PD: Kudos to INTRADA to finally release this magnificent score as it was conceived by Goldsmith
