An entertaining little book, the only one in the series of 10 that i've read. It's set in the US and centred around Mountainboard tour guide training on Mt.St Helens, Jake and Peter (never 'pete'-WHY?!) are 2 competive extreme dudes who are joined by a quality stereotyped aussie and foxy twins (with a twist) for a freeride trip around the 3 Mountains. St.Helens is a volcano. You can see what's coming.
It's well written, i liked the freestyle sesh into water (where someone gets a board in the face), but when the inevitable finally happens, it's all too brief.
Feelings of travel and friendships are well observed and some of the riding descriptions are like mountainboarder porn. It's mildly factual too, and just about pulls off being cool.
Like a nice 360, but without much style. Good, but definately could have boned or tweaked it more ;)

Pure cheesy class, whether you ride off road wheelie board things or not. Following Johnny Tsunami, the teen surfing snowboarder disney dude tackles mountainboarding. Surreal as it is to see the sport in this light, it is both entertaining and endearing to witness. If I were in the target demographic, i would find inspirational scenery, characters/emotion to relate to, and a bright funky sport that has a bit of attitude, and i'd want a go.
I certainly want to go ride there.
baddie riders, learning to ride, spoilt rich girl= teen romance, shredding the gnar, family turmoil, cool bx, some yawny bits, some well cool bits etc etc
so then, like loads of other films but with mountainboarding in. It puts positivity first, and if that means its cheesy as fkuc then so be it ;)

Mish Mash [Australian Import]

5.0 out of 5 stars All hail the mighty Gurge..., 24 Feb. 2008
Aussie mentalists produce another eclectic fusion of hiphopmetalthrashpunkpop. Sounding like the future music predicted in the 80's, all their albums are magically enhanced & mish mash is no exception. Transcending poignant bonkersness, this album was recorded over 2 weeks in a glass bubble in the centre of Melbourne.
The UK has missed out for a decade on a band of exceptional talent, lyrically brilliant, tongue-in-cheek humour and taking on all comers. Get this, and then hunt down all their other albums.
