3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for!, 16 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Works but you get what you pay for and the elastication and stitching around the top came apart the first time I put it on.
At this price it was not worth sending them back.

On His Majesty's Service (Matthew Hervey)
On His Majesty's Service (Matthew Hervey)
by Allan Mallinson
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.29

3.0 out of 5 stars A long read, 13 Dec 2013
I begin to wonder if this series has run it's course. The action in this book didn't start until after page 111. The first 111 pages were filled with drivel which I can only assume was there to fill out the book to the publishers requirements for x thousand words. I have bought and read all of this series but I seriously begin to wonder if I will buy the next one (if there is one)

4.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable read but becoming stale, 22 Nov 2013

As always a well written story but I believe that the series is becoming stale and cannot imagine where it is going now.

Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.23

5.0 out of 5 stars A really good read, 22 Nov 2013

In the mode of Stockwin, Lambdin and others. I hope that the author moves this on to a series and is picked up by a large publishing house.

Inferno: (Robert Langdon Book 4)
Inferno: (Robert Langdon Book 4)
by Dan Brown
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £9.00

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been 50% shorter, 9 July 2013
This book is a good story merged with tourists guide books to Florence and Venice. Dan Brown goes over the top with descriptions of the Florentine architecture and surroundings and details about the De Medici but he had to pad it out with something.
The essential bits about Dante and his works are of course essential to the story and interesting.
I found that after a few chapters I was skipping over the tourist stuff to get back into the story.
To the publishers I would say "Don't ask him for a 50,000 word book, just cut out the non-essential sightseeing stuff".

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for O'Brian readers, 2 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This series is not for any Patrick O'Brian readers. The author demonstrates his lack of knowledge of Nelson's navy several times in the first few pages. It is difficult to know who but junior readers would find this book worth reading unfortunately I paid £7.99 for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to the next in series, 5 Oct 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This series is about a group of soldiers of all ranks rather than an individual and as such is always good to read. SEND ME SAFELY BACK AGAIN continues where the others left off and I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series which I hope will extend to many volumes.
