Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Blades Refill (Pack of 4)
Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Blades Refill (Pack of 4)
Price: 8.49

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but Not Good Enough, 25 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have always used Gillette blades over the years. I thought I would try Wilkinson Sword as the blades were so much cheaper than Mach 3 blades. When shaving along the normal lines of the face, these blades are superior to Mach 3 blades in terms of lubrication and drag. They give a closer shave with less irritation. The problem comes from the fact that you cannot get close to the hair just underneath each nostril. The Mach 3's have a cutter on the reverse of the blade, so making it very easy to cut off these hairs, not so with Wilkinson blades. You end up with soft smooth skin, yet have little tufts of hair underneath your nose, a big drawback. I have tried holding the razer at different angles to cut these hairs, but to no avail.

Overall if they had a rear blade cutter, to enable small areas of hairs to be cut in the same way as a Mach 3, I wold give the blades 5 stars. As they do not have such a blade, I have to say they are good but they leave hairs in awkward to get to places. Good but could be better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality & Thin, 25 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
There is very little to say about these condoms that have not already been said. They are made by Durex so the quality is there. They are very thin, so that you do not loose too much sensation. Overall this is a great product and safe to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars is a great compromise between price and quality, 19 July 2014
I have used a number of cheap to very expensive Shun knives. Whilst nothing can come close too the Shun knife set I have, this knife, at its very low price, is a great compromise between price and quality. This is a nicely made knife, with a very sharp steel blade complemented with a nicely crafted wooden handle. The blade itself is very sharp and so far, cutting most things, it has made a very good job and it has stayed very sharp.

Overall this is an inexpensive knife, which looks well made and is very sharp. Recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Price, 19 July 2014
I have used a number of cheap to the very expensive Shun brand of knives. Whilst nothing can come close to the Shun knife set for quality of sharpness, this knife at its very low price is a great compromise between price and quality. It is nicely made knife made from ceramic, with a plastic compound handle. The blade itself is very sharp and so far, cutting most things, it has made a very good job and it has stayed very sharp.

Overall this is an inexpensive knife, which looks well made and is very sharp. Recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but there are better, 6 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have used the superior, in fact much superior Badger brushes from Kent for many years. They are soft but not too soft, come in a beautiful leather travel box and have a stand with them, for about the same kind of money as this one. This brush comes in a cardboard box with a stand. The stand really does not fit the brush. The handle, is in reality, cheap plastic. The brush is very soft, but maybe too soft. The whole point of using a brush, is to soften the hairs and make them stand up. The brush bristles should therefore not be as soft as this brush.

I am not saying this is a bad product, but comparing it to a Kent brush for about the same price there is simply no competition, the Kent brush wins everytime.

Do yourself a favour, don't buy this one buy a Kent Badger brush, you will see the difference with the first shave.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Software, 6 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The CorelDraw Graphics Suite X7 includes six pieces: CorelDraw X7, Photo Paint X7, PowerTrace X7, Connect X7, Website Creator, and Capture X7. The core application is CorelDraw X7, followed by Photo Paint X7, and the rest function as utilities. PowerTrace is a bitmap converter; Website Creator is a site-design tool, and Capture is for screen capture.

CorelDraw X7 has seen a significant redesign. The Workspace presents the biggest redesign and includes presets like a Lite option for beginners, an Illustrator option for those familiar with Adobe Illustrator, dedicated options for Page Layout and Illustration, and a Classic option for those who liked things the way they were. The neatly redesigned interface is totally customisable. You can adapt your workspace to suit your workflow.

A new Docker puts the tools you use most on the right side in collapsible panes that are visible, but out of the way when you want to maximize your workspace. X7 also supports multi-monitor setups and high-DPI screens, so you can let all your Corel designs sprawl across your workspace and see them in high definition.

Another big change is in how pattern fills are handled. They have been split into defined bitmap and vector options, which
is a big improvement after the previous mess of two-colour, full colour, and bitmap sub-options.

More extras include 2,000 high-resolution stock photos, 1,000 fonts, hundreds of design templates, and about five hours of training videos.

More improvements include compatibility with important file formats, such as PSD, AI, and PDF, as well as the RAW file format.

The most unique new feature is a QR-code creator and validation tool. QR stands for Quick Response Code, which is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode. You can change the shape, outline width, color, and fill type of the QR code pixels. You can change the background color and fill type and more. This feature seems targeted at small businesses that are designing brochures, posters, and other marketing materials.

One downside is that Graphics Suite X7 is only for Windows, with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Mac users will need Parallels or some other software that enables a Windows environment on their machine to use it, which is not an ideal solution.

All-in-all, it is a powerful graphics suite which offers a great alternative to Adobe products, especially for those not happy
with the new subscription pricing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Bike, 24 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Once upon a time every boy wanted a Raleigh Chopper or Grifter....these were the bikes of my childhood. Every since then the name Raleigh and made in Nottingham have stayed in my psyche. When I was a student in the USA, the Raleigh name once again came up time after time, with my student friends, as THE name in bicycles, with guaranteed quality of workmanship and rugged frames. So when this mountain bike came up for review via the Vine programme, my childhood memories of this company flooded back and so I had to see if the name Raleigh still stood for innovation and quality, so Mrs C got herself a mountain bike.

The bike appears to be well made. It is no longer a British made bicycle and appears to be made in Vietnam and final checks and assembly in Germany, which is a disappointment. The bike has an 18 gear Shimano gear system and is made from a super light alloy frame. The wheels are made from strong alloys, coupled with powerful alloy V-brakes and MTB tyres allow for all terrain capability. Overall the quality, design, lightness and components of this bicycle make it ideal for what it was designed to do.

Taking the bicycle out on the roads is a pleasurable experience. Whilst the frame is very light weight, you always feel in control of where it is going and it can take most kinds of terrain without any issues. I have not tested the bike to destruction up and down mountains, but for everything I have used it for/tested it for, it has come up trumps. The only downside I have found is when compared to a more expensive bike, this does feel flimsy and cheap.

At the price point it is pitched at, it offers a good overall experience, without having any WOW factor. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, 19 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Well there was never a Vine item that was more needed at the time it appeared on the list. I had a very high quality VARTA battery on my car, that was only 2 years old. I left my car with a friend, while I went abroad, who did its MOT whilst away. I left oil and the filter for an oil service in the boot of the car. Whilst I was away my friend did the service, but failed to close the boot properly as it is a very heavy lid. This error ran the battery down to nothing. It was jump started, but over the next few weeks the battery failed time after time. I took it to a battery specialist who told me it needed a trickle charge, as the jump start and a long run, would not charge the battery properly. That week this little beauty came my way via the Vine list and all I can say is that it did the job perfectly.

This item is easy to use and attach, The diagnostic LED showed that the battery had virtually no charge left in it. I left the battery hooked up over night and by the next morning all was OK. It has crocodile clips and other connectors for gel batteries. It is small and versatile and should meet virtually all your needs with a switchable charging mode from 6V to 12V charge. The instructions are far from comprehensive and a quick look at their web site should resolve any unclear issues. This battery charger does what it says on the "Tin". It revitalises batteries that are dead and trickle charges worn down batteries. It is better than most conventional chargers.

Overall this is a great charger and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, 6 Jun 2014
I was given this item by Avantree to test, review and keep in return for an honest review.

As anyone who has a motorcycle knows, taking a call on your mobile phone, whilst driving can be very problematic and dangerous. This product solves many of the issues with regards mobile phone usage whilst riding. The item arrived from the manufacturer but there were pieces missing. Avantree customer services resolved all problems quickly and efficiently. I was able to then test the product properly.

It is easy to assemble and easy to use. I have not had any problems pairing the item with my Sony Xperia phone. The sound is very clear and even with noisy environments/40mph and below, the person on the other end of the phone line has been able to hear me clearly. Above this speed threshold, there is an issue with its effectiveness and the sound quality does drop off, but remember how much this item costs versus other more advanced units. The item is also weatherproof and so if it does rain, it will not get ruined. Overall at higher speeds, the other person can hear you and you can hear them, but not as clearly as at speeds below 40mph.

Overall this is a splendid, easy to assemble, easy to use, good quality bluetooth device, that works well under many conditions. Whilst it does not match the performance of the more expensive units, in terms of voice quality, it is very good given the price. I am happy to highly recommend the item.
