Excellent show. Sound, performance, setlist, this one's got it all. One can never have enough Dio concerts, and I wish they did the same with tours from Lock up th Wolves and Magica.

A brilliant moment indeed. Awesome setlist, great sound. Sadly, by this time Ian was already having problems with high notes, and it shows, actually it sounds like agony to him and he should have reduced them to a minimum for his own sake. Maybe Fireball and Wasted Sunsets instead of Child in Time would have been a good move. That aside, it's a great concert and a priceless acquisition to any DP fan.

Great sound and DP performing at their best. Good chance to listen to a few oldies which are not often included on live records (maybe I'm a Leo, Never before). Absolutely recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars An old/new Band, 29 Mar 2013

Stratovarius has managed to keep their quality despite band members' changes, musical disorientation (2003-2007), internal drama, etc., and that's praiseworthy on its own.
After Tolki's departure, these Scandinavians have found the way to retain freshness and inspiration, and Polaris and Elysium are proof of that. Now, we have Nemesis, with yet another member change, this time, legendary Jörg Michael, but just like with Tolki, they could find a replacement up to the challenge. This record integrates a lot of new stuff without betraying their style. Very Good sound and production, some songs reach to the sky, others are rather flat, but overall it's a good record, especially after that many years writing music.
Try to get the bonus-track version, because they are rather good. Way to go, Stratovarius!

You can't go wrong with BR. A band that has consistently released records for over 30 years, and most of them high quality material. This record is a little bit more raw than the previous. It has a certain Stranger than Fiction feel, but a few songs have a more updated vibe and some sounds we're not used to, not a bad thing.
Not their best album, but one worth having, and very interesting as to new types of music arrangements, heartwarming as to their lyrics and old school BR songwriting.
Go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The 60's without compromise!, 29 Mar 2013

Elvis' career was misguided at times despite his colossal talent, I think we all can agree on that. During the 60's, Elvis became trapped under contracts that compelled him to make film after film, a successful formula for a while, but eventually it took its toll on Elvis as an artist, and the music, certainly. However, when he focused on music, the thing he loved the most, he really delivered. This compilation shows his musical career without any soundtrack songs, and we can see several peaks of his career, e.g., his successful return from the Army which included his early hits from the sixties and high quality songs and performance. Then we have the songs which were released as bonus tracks of soundtracks and A and B sides of singles (not so easy to get) and finally, his awesome comeback TV special and the monumental closure of the decade in Memphis and a very promising fresh start.
This compilation has all that and at a very convenient price, As the name suggests, this is ESSENTIAL.

I used to listen to this Brazilian outfit in the early 90's, but then the rivers of music took me to other seas... but last year (2012), I saw The Cavalera brothers live by chance, and their performance really took me back, in the very best way. So I decided to include at least one Sepultura cd in my collection, and I made the perfect choice: this cd contains the very best of this legendary band with classic Thrash/death metal songs like Arise or Beneath the Remains, and also the very genre they created with songs like Roots or Territory which eventually would become Nu Metal.
Absolutely recommendable!!!

Black Hole
Black Hole

5.0 out of 5 stars Back in Black!!!, 10 Jun 2010
This review is from: Black Hole (Audio CD)
Turn off the lights, light the candles and sit back on your couch. The celebration after so long an abscence begins with Black Hole, a instant dark rock classic. Mid-tempo, infectuous melodies, haunting vocals, a journey through a black hole indeed.
The second rite goes by name Bombers, a song previously available on youtube, which presents an updated Nosferatu, setting trends once again. Finally, a cover song entitled I Don't Wanna Live this Life (Dee Dee Ramone), which clearly states the affinity between punk rock and goth and how well they get along.
Great single, and quite an intriguing promise of what's to come this year.
