A really great little album. Check out Mutt also. It's hill billy rock n roll with some very unusual Nashville country thrown in for good measure.

Cory has a rich, whiskey stained voice which sings of lost loves, money problems, failed relationships, but with some humour. A strange combination which just....works?!?.

I highly recommend and as previously stated, go listen to Mutt, his third album.

A no hit wonder classic in waiting.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Space Man comets!!!!, 18 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A sober Ace is a great thing to hear and see. I respect the guy just for cleaning up his act, still getting up to play and producing great music. This cannot be said about his old band. I admit I used to love 'the Demon', but as a guitarist Frehley is the most honest about his talent and why he still plays. He gotta eat!

Right let get this out of the way, Kiss is not Kiss without the Space Ace. Peter Criss is clown shoes and not fit to wipe up after Eric Carr RIP. Tommy and Eric Singer are just good tribute players. I have seen this grim line up live and they just seem tired and going through the motions. Paul 'plastic face' Stanley's voice was raspier than Peter Criss's. They are a poor relation to even the late 1980's incarnation. I do love Eric Carr and Bruce Kullick though. Those guys had musical integrity.

Okay, I feel better and look forward for all the "feck youse" from so called Kiss fans. (Gotta love the haters, I challenge to prove me wrong)

The review itself......

The new Frehley Album......well all I can say is that Ace is playing with the full deck. This is like the last thirty years and especially the 1980s' albums never happened and you are listening to the follow up to the 1978 solo album. The licks, riffs and guitar fills are all classic Ace. He even sounds like he did when he sang "Shock Me"!!!

Song by song reviews are not my thing, but needless to say that if you love Ace, you will love this album. It blows all the Frehley's Comet stuff out of the water with a Torpedo (One for the fans!!!) and is far superior to 208's Amomaly. Don't get me wrong, all his previous efforts had some very strong songs, but we're let down with some middling production and dated style over substance. This is a return to a more Kiss than Kiss like sound and goes to prove that Ace can make a better Kiss album than the current Kiss line up. (That is a lot of kisses!!!!!).

Imagine a sound that reflects the songs of "Dressed to Kill" & "Hotter Than Hell" with some very strong solo album style guitar work. No one will ever accuse the Space Ace of being a shredder, but what he does with old Chuck Berry riffs and the pentatonic scale brings a smile to my face. It reminds me of the first time I put a 1970s'real Kiss album on my turntable. (Love Gun)...Catchy, ripping solos with that lazy drawl. Good times.

Let's see if $tanley and $immon$ can actually create a serious contender to this, if they manage to make another pseudo Kiss album.

Listen, go out and buy it, don't sit on the couch and read my ravings Curly!

Ace is back and I told you so!!!!!!!!!!! HOAH! Buy this album.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is P!$$ not KISS, 11 Jan. 2014
An absolute crock! This album is criminally bad. Kiss needs Ace, Peter or Eric to sound great. With these two old J£W$ and their lick spittle impostors, it sounds more like a second rate tribute group. Good Lord, met hey even have the nerve to include a Space Man themed song.

I would just luv for apace to beat the C££p out of Gene and pull his stupid wig off!!!

This is a terrible album, AVOID!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roger the artful dodger, 24 Dec. 2013
Given the mixed bag of previous reviews I approached this book with some trepidation. I was as wrong to do so as it is a great read. I love Floyd and quite liked Amused to Death, but Rogers other poser Pink Floyd out put is pretty weak. Saying that, I have seen him live twice and he can really put on a stocking show. In this book however he does come across as a bit of a bas###d!!
Floyd boys review is quit weak and obviously he is biased in his overall view by love for the band, however he is correct in pointing out the glaringly obvious editorial issues the author has clearly cocked up on.
I have always thought of Water's as a bit of a hypocrite with his holier than thou rants about war, poverty and politics. Easy to stand on a soapbox and pontificate when you are worth 70 million plus. The book in my opinion articulates this very point extremely well.

His music is historically memorable, his attitude to the members of Floyd and his self righteous posturing is disgraceful.

Excellent read over Xmas. I look forward to a follow up on Mr Gilmour.
