5.0 out of 5 stars Great value- Does what it says on the tin...., 1 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I needed HDMI cable for the new dvd player [one of the new High Def. ones from Sony], and at first sought out the Sony cable, but could not afford the very high price tag. I found this, and was not too sure if it was compatable with my dvd player. It arrived very quickly, and I am pleased to say that it works very well. I am extremely pleased with this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Survivors- An excellent series, 23 April 2013

I saw the remaqke of this series a couple of years ago when it came out on tv, and vaguely remembered the original. I was very pleased with the original. Of course the England of 1975 has not survived in full, but the basic idea, the story seems more realistic some how than the newer version. It certainly makes one think...

5.0 out of 5 stars Human Remains: A very well written thriller, 23 April 2013

I love this author. She manages to involve the story based on several characters and still keeps the tension, the drama up there. Also, the quality of the writing in excellent and rarely seen in this genre. I feel I can identify with some of the characters- they seem so real and the problems they face, very 'normal' for lack of a better word. I also really enjoyed her other work- 'Into the Darkest Corner' and cannot wait to start her latest, 'Revenge of the Tide'.

4.0 out of 5 stars No Way Back: Part 1 of 3. A clever set up, 23 April 2013

I like the way this story was divided into 3 parts, especially with the first part free. thus, if one does not like it, you do not have to invest in the other 2 parts. The characters are likeable, the plot is quite good. It is written in the style typical of the author. Essentially, a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Star Trek: The Original Series - Season 2 [DVD]
Star Trek: The Original Series - Season 2 [DVD]

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Star Trek Original Series- Season 2, 23 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Of the three seasons [pity there were not more], I like season 2 the best. The characters are well developed by this poit. There is humour, and great plots. I like the special they did with the 'Trouble with Tribbles' episode. They also included the Deep Space 9 re-make [fabulous] of the episode as well as the animated one. Also included is the Mirror universe episode and the episode involving a time travel episode back to the 1960's. Great viewing!!!.

The Andromeda Strain [DVD] [1971]
The Andromeda Strain [DVD] [1971]
Dvd ~ James Olson

4.0 out of 5 stars the Andromeda Strain- great retro sci-fi, 23 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As sci-fi goes, this is definately more sci- than fi... The topic: an alien virus that somehow winds up on a satellite and finds its way to a small, dusty mid-western US town, can by a stretch for sure be believable. The medical and science jargon means that one has to concentrate a bit harder whilst watching this than other high octaine, dazzling effects sci-fi, but interesting nevertheless...

4.0 out of 5 stars Star Trek Ships 2013 Calendar, 23 Mar 2013

The pictures are great to look at, so much more like a poster than a calendar. The only down side is the fact that as it opens fully, it is a bit awkward to hang up. It opens like a book- giving you a fuller image, but tricky to hang up... I am still very pleased with it and can't wait for the years end when I can pick out the best pictures and hang them up seperately.

4.0 out of 5 stars 12th of Never- a good read, 23 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have long been a fan of Patterson's 'Women's Muerder Club' series... The first four were fantastic. The kind of book that leaves you wanting to jump ahead, eager to know what will happen next. Sadly, 'the 12th of Never' is not in the same league. The plot is good, the characters are great, it just lacks the 'umph', the 'wow factor' of the others.
I am still hoping for WMC's number 13, and hope that Patterson and Paetro can recapture some of the tension and high octaine rush of the earlier books.

3.0 out of 5 stars A great concept but hard work, 22 Feb 2013

I love the idea of various grades of pencils to draw and shade with. I am sure after I have spent a lot of extra time, and energy on sharpening them, I will probably enjoy them a lot more. I have weak hands due to poor health and have only been able to properly sharpen 3 of the 12. Why do they not sell them ready to use?? Or, at the very least, they ought to tell people that they are unsharpened...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great art set, 22 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After wanting to get back into art, and finding my supplies a bit dried up, I decided to go for this set to start out with. I have not been disappointed. everything fits in nicely to the case, and there is even room for more stuff!! I am glad that I chose this over the wooden box variety... The quality of the supplies are very good. It comes with everything one would need to paint and draw.
