4.0 out of 5 stars Strange and scary and something different..., 9 May 2013

I wasn't at all sure that I was going to like this book when I downloaded it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the type of genre I usually go for, but I was intrigued by the title and thought I'd give it a go. I don't want to give the plot away, but the main character is Cameron (female by the way) who like the Grandma she lives with, is a mind reader. One day the mysterious, but gorgeous Lewis arrives at her school and singles her out, and Cameron is hooked. There are some good twists and turns to the story, and I liked the fact that this was completely different to the type of book I normally read. When I got to the end I immediately downloaded the next two books in the series - The Mind Thieves (Book 2) and The Mind Games (Book 3) as I really want to know how things turn out for Cameron. Highly recommend this book...

2.0 out of 5 stars Promising start, but I got bored with the silliness..., 5 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I really thought I was going to like this book when I began reading the first few chapters. It seemed humorous and observant, but I got so bored that I just couldn't be bothered finishing it. For me, personally, the endless "meetings" and "adventures" with so many world leaders, just became ridiculous and went into far too much boring detail. I found that I wasn't actually taking in what was written as I'd become so fed up with it by then. I don't usually give up on a book, and will see it through even if I don't think it's particularly gripping, but this one was the exception. Sorry, but I can't recommend this one...

4.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyed this book..., 1 May 2013

I downloaded this for free, and I have to say, I really enjoyed reading it. Although the book is slow in parts, I seemed to gallop through it with speed. I don't really know what I was expecting from the story, but I was pleasantly surprised and so glad I decided to try it. I'm not one for romantic novels as such, but this wasn't slushy in any way at all. I found it believable, tense, sad, emotional, and at times a little scary. I think the ending was somewhat predictable, but there was a definite unexpected twist there that I didn't foresee, and I think it was extremely well written. I look forward to reading more from Edie Claire in future. Highly recommended...

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart warming..., 22 April 2013

What a beautiful book! I was spellbound from page one. You know you've found a gem when you can't wait to pick up where you left off reading. A story to make you realise that things and people are not always as they appear to be, and that one person can bring happiness to many others through love and determination. I loved the mysterious ball of light that would show itself to Beth, and which would help her unravel the truth by finding a diary hidden buried in the wall that slopes down to a secret beach. Very well written and believable...

As I just wanted a device for the internet, this seemed ideal for me. You can get online in seconds, and you don't need Anti-virus, so there is no trouble with updating and scanning, which is perfect for my needs. It's also very light and portable, and excellent value for money...

4.0 out of 5 stars Something for free..., 12 April 2013

Took me around 15 minutes to read this, and I have to say I quite enjoyed it. It reminded me of a short story I had to write for an English exam years ago (you know the kind of thing, 500 words and an hour to write it). I didn't realise it was so short when I downloaded it, but I'm not complaining, it was the perfect read for my tea-break...

There's not a lot I can say about this product, except that it's easy fit, neat and was just what I needed for a my patio window. Hadn't been able to find one in town, so was pleased to be able to get it here, and it's a little pliable too, so it would be fine for a window with a slight curve to it. Good service and delivery...

Radflek Radiator Reflectors (3 Sheets, Fits 3-6 Radiators)
Radflek Radiator Reflectors (3 Sheets, Fits 3-6 Radiators)

3.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't reduced my fuel bills at all..., 1 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This product is very easy to cut, fit and install. I saw them on a shopping television channel and was pleased to find them on Amazon. The amount that comes in this pack was enough for me to fit behind three average sized radiators in our house, and I used the sheets on the radiators that are placed on outside walls. When the heating is on, the radiators do seem a lot hotter than before, but I did bleed them and have done so regularly, so I'm not sure if the product is responsible for the extra warmth or not. However, they don't seem to throw any extra heat into the room itself and my fuel bills have certainly not gone down as a result of buying this product. There's a lot of hype about these on shopping tv, but I think you have to use them and make up your own mind. Personally, I think they are ok, but I don't rate them that highly. I think a sheet of tinfoil would be just as good, as a previous reviewer said...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great piece of kit, but battery life lets it down..., 31 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased the Kindle Fire mainly for reading, and as there are so many free books to download, it's a great buy for that reason alone. It has a clear screen, and is very easy to navigate. I am not one for reading instructions that come with gadgets, and prefer to find out for myself just how something works (just as well, as this came with none). It's pretty self-explanatory anyway, and if I can do it, then I'm sure other people can too. There are so many apps (many of them free), and lots of educational things too. Every day I seem to find more and more things to do on the Kindle Fire, I just wish I had more time to do them. It didn't come with a charger which I was a bit miffed about, and I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the battery life, which isn't great. I use mine for browsing the shops like Next, M&S, Debenhams, Matalan etc. To be honest, the sky's the limit on this Kindle, it all depends on what you like using it for. I am very pleased with it, and I'm happy to recommend it...

No Title Available

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, but very snug fitting..., 24 Mar 2013
I was in two minds about whether or not to order this jacket without having first seen it in the flesh, and being able to try it on etc. I went onto La Redoute's own website and looked at the reviews on there as there weren't any available on Amazon. The reviews were quite favourable, although some said that the jacket was rather snug, but I thought it a lovely colour and style, so I decided to order it, but to go up a size from my usual, and I'm glad that I did. It's a very nice jacket with a lovely sheen to it, although it's advertised as canvas, it really isn't. I would have liked it to be an inch or two longer in length. I am 5' 7" and I think it's ever so slightly shorter on me than I would like it to be, so when I wore it yesterday I had to make sure that my sweater didn't hang beneath the hem. It has a good sized hood with fur, and both are detachable, so you can wear it a number of ways. There are two tabs at the back to make the waist look more shapely, but again, these seem too high up for me. It has four pockets to the front which are handy, though I'm not really one for putting things in pockets as it seems to add extra bulk for me, and as I'm quite busty I don't want any emphasis on that area. It is a lovely piece of outerwear otherwise, and I am happy to recommend it, but make sure you go up a size. And by the way, it has been reduced from 70 (check out La Redoute's website for yourself). Having said that I would not have paid full price for it...
