5.0 out of 5 stars good introduction, 7 Nov. 2012

The book, as promised by the title, gives a good introduction to any potential student of jyotish. It is well written and is easy to follow, as well as leading the student gently on so s/he thirsts for more. It is definitely a beginner's book, but nevertheless includes a valuable introduction to each nakshatra. I also bought "Personal Panchanga" on the strength of Komilla Sutton's clear writing syle. I hope to read more advanced books by this author, as my own knowledge and practice increase.

Urban Trosch's artwork is a delight and is pleasing particularly to cat lovers, which he undoubtedly is. The booklet calls for a working knowledge of the German language.

The Haindl Tarot, Minor Arcana
The Haindl Tarot, Minor Arcana

5.0 out of 5 stars esoteric and personal aspects of the Haindl tarot, 8 Jan. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Tarot expert Rachel Pollack explores the symbology and personal nuances of Haindl's esoteric deck. Special attention is paid to the I Ching aspects, upright and reversed, which is helpful and to the Court cards and the myths attached to them. This deepens the reader's appreciation to what might otherwise be a perplexing deck to a novice, but which is in fact solidly within the tarot tradition, albeit with an environmentalist/ new age feel, transmuting the ancient signs for greater relevance in a nuclear age.
