I wanted to read this having seen The White Queen series on TV and being interested in this period of history. Agreed there could well be some historic licence but it reads well and gives a different perspective of an old story.

Another first class novel from Mr Deaver. They all romp along at a cracking pace and have that "can't put it down" nature to them.
Never lets you down and always the twists or double twists at the end. Great read.

Type of book that grabs you from the start. Loved the way the story was told from different perspectives and the many twists along the way.

Superb real life drama told with dramatic illustration - you can almost feel the size of the seas. Beautifully told with no hint of self pity - and corroborated as well.Very good read.

I tried these as a change to my usual tablet. Mistake! They were huge in size , difficult to break and poorly coated making them very difficult to swallow - almost a choking hazard. Horrible!

Still a wonderful story with its own twists and turns. Once you get used to Dickens' more exaggerated style of description it reads well.

Interesting up to a point but would obviously benefit from a conclusion. As this case is still going on perhaps a delay in this issue might have been considered

4.0 out of 5 stars review for Gone Girl, 13 May 2013

This review is from: Gone Girl (Kindle Edition)
Liked the format and it certainly got me hooked to start with.It romped along at a good pace, but the characters gradually became predictable in that they were always trying to out do each other. It is still a book that you can't put down though, didn't see the final twist coming. Could author not find diferent ways to express characters frustrations - excessive, lazy use of c word I thought.Lost the impact after the first five repeats.
