5.0 out of 5 stars A second DVD? That's gradely!, 14 Jun 2001
After enjoying the happy fun and frolics of the first DVD(highly recommended!), imagine my delight when a second DVD was released! As usual, Chorlton is in his usual slow-witted, cheery self, irradiating happiness to Wheelie World without knowing it! Also there is Fenella, the evil witch (or, according to Chorlton, the "little ol' lady!") who is having a hard time battling against this happy dragon. The stories and the narration are top class, which ensures that any lover of cult kid's tv will burst with happiness while watching this brilliant DVD. Buy it NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant entertainment - just like that!, 25 May 2001
The hapless magician with the most infectious laugh known to man makes a welcome return to video, in an excellent value boxset! I started to watch his shows a few years after he died, and I can see why he is such a legend. He made bad jokes seem really funny, and his badly performed magic makes me laugh, but what really makes me crack up is his unique manic laugh! And with four videos in this collection (incuding an affectionate tribute programme), now is the time for anyone new to Tommy Cooper to discover his great talent for comedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grab this bottom!, 3 April 2001
This review is from: Bottom: Live [DVD] (DVD)
Of the trilogy of Bottom stage shows, this first show ranks as the best. Much ruder than the BBC version (and much funnier too), this story involves an "inheritance", a blow-up doll, and an electric lavatory! I have seen this stage show live before, and, like the audience, I was reduced to uncontrolable laughter. Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson are at their best not only in their character roles, but also when they sidetrack from the story and hurl insults and gags to each other and to the audience whenever something goes wrong! This is an absolutely brilliant comedy show that fully deserves this DVD release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ecky thump! Chorlton is back - on DVD!!!, 10 Mar 2001
Chorlton is at last back with us after years of neglect, with a very deserving DVD release. Prior to buying this DVD, I can remember from my childhood the fantastic theme song and the great cast of characters, but it was a bit psychedelic for me to understand the stories! Now, after watching this DVD (re-living my childhood, of course), I realised it was about a happiness dragon who is blissfully unaware of his power to bring happiness to Wheelie World, and was equally ignorant of the fact that the "little ol' lady" he comes across every episode is in fact Fenella, the evil witch who lives in a kettle! The storylines are great, but the animation is fantastic, especially the way Fenella moves around the place. One thing for certain, though, Chorlton will bring happiness not only to the Wheelies, but also the viewer, no matter what age they are. Great entertainment for all. Buy it NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Carrott to be watched again and again!, 10 Mar 2001
The best stand-up comedian in Britain, Jasper Carrott has the ability to tell hilariously funny stories and gags without being too crude like most comedians. This video is perhaps the one that all lovers of good comedy should have in their collection. There are so many highlights in this video; his frightening experiences in a Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong, the many different types of snoring, his collection of hilarious claim form statements, and his versions of famous songs with his guitar! If this sounds hilarious to you, you should consider ordering this video. A must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crumbs! Danger Mouse is back!, 9 Mar 2001
Danger Mouse has to be the best ever British cartoon of all time, and is fully deserving of a DVD release! Remembering my early childhood, I enjoyed the stories and the characters, but you have to be an adult to appreciate the crazy plots and the witty dialogue which flew over my head at the time! Buying this DVD has to be one of the best purchases ever made, as it is packed with six great stories which kept me entertained. With a great cast of actors providing great voices (David Jason provides the voice of the title character but is wonderfully over-the-top as Colonel K and the narrator!), this is the DVD to re-capture your lost youth!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bang! Thump! Wallop! Need I say more?, 1 Feb 2001
This is a brilliant British comedy film, with plenty of slapstick, double entendres, and vomiting! This film made me laugh and cringe at the same time, especially seeing Richie in female rubber lingerie! There are other brilliant highlights, such as the "candle in the eye" gag, and the ordering of a boiled egg that gets the hopeless pair fighting each other in their usual fashion! The humour tends to be the same as the BBC series, and it is odd seeing this as a movie rather than, say, as a TV special, but, nevertheless, it is an hilarious comedy and should appeal to all Bottom fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars A film for the family as well as for Laurel and Hardy fans!, 30 Jan 2001
This is one of the best Laurel and Hardy films, but it is also an enchanting musical fantasy that can be enjoyed by the whole family. A great set of characters are in this movie, which includes Bo Peep, the Cat and the fiddle, Mickey Mouse, the evil Barnaby, and the Bogeymen, with Laurel as Stannie Dum and Hardy as Ollie Dee. The film itself is of very good picture and sound quality, with plenty of musical numbers and a thrilling (and funny) ending, but the bogeymen might be a bit scary to younger children! Sadly, this film has not been shown on TV for a long time, which is sad, as this is a brilliant film that will appeal to anyone. Also, there is an early Stan Laurel silent short included in this DVD, which is entertaining.
