3.0 out of 5 stars Some teething troubles, 11 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Might be us, not sure, but whatever we tried, couldn't connect to our Mac via wi-fi - we are using cable at the mo. Printing is very fast - brilliant. Photos and images good, but I use the back feeder a lot for making labels and printing card, and I found this very frustrating - usually takes quite a few goes before the label sheet or card will feed in properly, then slow to scan to pc. Hope these problems can be overcome.

Love this book. I was specifically looking for different ways to join motifs, and it does just that and more. I've been crocheting for years, but learned a new way to cast on! Gives instructions for many different types of motifs and a few things to make - good value.

Kith and Kin: Kinship Care for Vulnerable Young People
Kith and Kin: Kinship Care for Vulnerable Young People
by Christine Rushforth
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Synopsis, 16 Oct 2009
It is a government priority to improve the poor outcomes for children in care and young people when they leave care. There is a limited choice of social services placements for those needing to be protected, and especially a shortage of foster placements. For some, kinship care may be another, and preferred way, of both being cared for, and preserving families.

This accessible book asks the children and young people themselves (aged between 13 and 21) about their experiences of kinship care. It asks their carers and social workers how best should young people and their kinship carers be supported.

The book is suitable for all those working and interested in children and young people's foster care, family placement, residential care, adoption, family support and young people's welfare fields. It will be of particular interest to managers, practitioners, social welfare academics and students who are seeking to understand the experience of young people making the transition to adulthood.
