5.0 out of 5 stars Leaves you more than satisfied, yet wanting more at the same time, 19 Aug 2014

Wonderful album. Ellen's voice has lost nothing with the passage of time and this cd truly shows off her range. Moving from subtle and gentle to full on power with apparent ease the dynamics and pace changes keep you listening and wanting more. This is one I find myself humming or catching snatches running round my head from time to time - again something rare in a lot of modern material and speaks to the quality of the songwriting.

Well done Ellen. Well done the Worried Men. More please

Bad Little Girls Die Horrible Deaths
Bad Little Girls Die Horrible Deaths

4.0 out of 5 stars Connolly is grossly under rated, 20 Dec 2013

Connolly writes well, presents unusual stories, and deserves much more success than he's had. This one has a historical setting (the majority I've read of his are contemporary), and every bit as intriguing as his mainstream titles.

Frankly, I was surprised how much I enjoyed this anthology especially as several of the stories were in genres I wouldn't normally read. If you like variety in settings, styles, and outcomes this will be right up your street.

Stormbringer
Stormbringer
by Michael Moorcock
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic of it's time, 23 Aug 2013

This review is from: Stormbringer (Hardcover)
"Stormbringer" is Moorcock at his best. If you like graphic novels you'll love this too. The imagery is vivid, and the story tight. Moorcock's style when this was written will not appeal to some modern readers of fantasy, but if you like Howard's Conan, be prepared to switch loyalties.

My Classical Interpretations (Works For Violin) (Kate Chruscicka)
My Classical Interpretations (Works For Violin) (Kate Chruscicka)
Price: £12.56

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely music, 12 Nov 2012

I first saw Kate busking on local street and was taken by her skill on the violin. I have to say I felt let down by the previous cd because it did not live up to skill we saw in her when we heard her play live - not that it was a bad cd though.

This one has a couple of pieces that really show some of that talent in a fine light, and if you like violin music, this should be on your wish lists.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you write fiction, 12 Nov 2012

This is well worth a look. As it is accepted that there are only so many plots anyway, the theme is not new, yet this title covers the subject thoroughly and entertainingly.

Money Personality
Money Personality
by A.E.Van Vogt

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't write this off as a positive thinking/manifesting book..., 12 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Money Personality (Hardcover)
...because it isn't. The author, a long running novelist with a background in psychology studied people who he judged to be rich and identified 12 character traits that governed their ability to make money.

Here he explains the traits clearly, leaving you with the option of learning to acquire them, or being aware of your shortcomings and compensating.

Some of these traits have a downside in other areas of life, which the author acknowledges but does not explore in depth. This is justified as in keeping with the subject of the book.

Writers take note - van Vogt was a prolific and successful author and credits this to aspects of what he learned (and explains) in this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars I really liked this...., 12 Nov 2012

This review is from: Romania (Kindle Edition)
Having made some friends in the Romania I have been reading around to help our conversations. This seems like a neat little guide, and will also amuse at times.

Having been told the mountains have wolves and bears, it was entertaining to read that in the river and sea "..fish is more common...".

Enjoy. It is worth a quick read.
