5.0 out of 5 stars Very Impressive Game, 2 Jun 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Metro Last Light is a very underated Game at this point in Time.Hopefully more Gamers will become aware of this Gem of a Game. The Plot of the Game is as follows.Moscow has been devestated by Nuclear War,the remaining Survivors live underground in the Moscow sub way system.Various Factions have grown up in the Post Apocalypse..Reds,Nazis,Bandits,Mutants..you play as Artyom a Member of an Elite group of Rangers.People have been trying to compare this Game to Fallout..This Game is NOTHING like Fallout..The Graphics are far superior,There are no Bugs,Glitches,Game Freezes etc, etc,Some of the Fallout Fan Boys are complaining that there is no personal interaction in the Game, this is not true..you get to interact with Goodies and Baddies alike.I can only assume that they havent played the Game. This Game is NOT Fallout, and is far superior to Fallout in Graphic and Game play quality..ok so it does not have massive Maps, but the storyline more than compensates for this..you play as a Soldier on a Mission that must be completed and you really dont have either the time OR the Gas Mask Filters to stray from your Objectives.

Graphics are amongst Some of the best i have ever seen on the PS3,the attention to detail is simply amazing, everything looks crystal clear and pin sharp. The Landscapes look very good and really conveys the sense of desolation and destruction. The underground scenes are just as good and again superlative attention to detail is very apparent. The Weapons look and feel "Right",weapons are either Homemade or ex Military, and so is the Ammo that goes with them,Ammo pick ups are available from dead Enemies and hidden caches throughout Metro last light, always loot an Enemy as they often have Ammo and/or weapons on their Body.Another very nice touch is the fact that in some areas you have to wear a Gas Mask whose Filter only lasts for a few Minutes,so again always remember to have plenty of spare Filters..Oh and dont let you Gas Mask become damaged as it will not keep you alive for long. The Enemy AI is very good and once you have been detected the Baddies will not give up until either you or they are kaput. The Game is divided into Chapters so you can replay different chapters once you have completed themThe Game can be played either with all Guns blazing or you can choose the stealthy approach and outwit your enemies by the use of stealth and Shadows, and also plunging the area into darkness by destroying Lights and tripping out circuit breakers. There is no Multiplayer function with this Game.Sometimes the Game play can be a tad linear and you feel like you are on rails, but this is only a very tiny niggle. To date i have not experienced ANY problems with Game Freezing,or the Camera going on the fritz,Gameplay is very smooth as are the controls and equipment Access Menus.Metro Last Light is a great Solid Shooter, and has an excellent storline and in my Opinion is going to become a benchmark for other Game developers to follow.I award Metro Last Light 10/10 for being a great value for Money Game, and for daring to be different.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Crafted Game, 10 Mar 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I have been playing this Game on the Super Soldier difficulty setting, and it certainly tests your ability to survive. As we have come to expect from the Games makers the Graphics are excellent, and the attention to detail is stunning, the enviroments are very large and you can explore and wander around at your leisure. The Game controls are pretty much the same as Crysis 2 and will present no problems to the Gamer,i particularly like the way in which the Heads Up Display has been improved on..Enemies are now marked with a Bright Red Triangle which grows in size as they get nearer to you.The Weapons available are the same as in Crysis 2 but with the addition of Special Ammo and a Hunters Bow plus more varied Alien Weaponry. The Bow itself can prove somewhat awkward to Aim but give it a go and you will soon be bringing down the Bad Guys no problem. The Enemy AI is spot on,one false move or make a noise and they are on you in a flash,so make good use of your Stealth Camo. The Multi player is also very good, large Maps and enviroments in which i found the Sniper Rifle coming into its own..unlike Crysis 2 where the Maps are somewhat more compact. All in all i found that Crysis 3 delivers fast paced action along with strategic use of stealth,Cunning and Planning..dont go in all Guns Blazing as you WILL DIE..step back examine your strategy, then be very sneaky..its not all about killing the Bad Guys this Game is primarily about Stealth and Strategy..a thinking Mans Shooter.Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Looking & Intelligent Horror/Survival, 27 Feb 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dead Space 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
Dead Space 3..Hmm after reading some of the 1 Star reviews i thought that i would give the Game a go for myself, and i was very pleasantly surprised. The Graphics are superb and the Colours and Textures are amazing as are the Enviroments.I particularly like the way that the Game has evolved into not simply being another Slash and Hack Type Zombie killer Game. The Controls are very simple and easy to use,and i can honestly say that i have not encountered ANY Glitches of any kind. The content of the Game has certainly expanded as well.No longer are you stuck on a Space Craft, you also now get Planet side as well. The Weapons Crafting Side of things takes some getting used to,but if you make a Mistake simply dismantle the Weapon and start over again. Some Reviewers mention that they have had to spend Real Money at the Sony Store to purchase Upgrades for their Weapons..This is a Mistake on their part, yes you can purchase Weapon and Suit Packs, but when you want to Modify and Upgrade your Weapons simply deploy your Scavenger Bots in the correct Locations and you will soon be raking in a lot of Materiel to craft and upgrade youe Weapons with, also sell your Ration Cans to purchase Materiel. If however you cannot be bothered with experimenting with making your own weapons, simply purchase them from the Pre Built weapons available at the Bench.Reading some of the Low Scoring Reviews for DS3 it seems to me that some of the Reviewers have simply not given the Game a chance to unfold and immerse themselves in the Dead Space 3 experience. If they dont like Dead Space 3 or find it far too challenging for them,i suggest that they may well fare far better with the Dire Aliens/Colonial Marines Offering as this may well be more suited to their expectations and abilities.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sadly let Down, 4 Nov 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I am a Big Fan of the Marvel Film Genre, and this Film started off very well but it sadly descended into a series of Cut Scenes and disjointed characters..as an American Production it without fail portrays the British as Kind Hearted Bumpkins or Upper Class Toffs, and the Irish as Bowler Hatted Puglists..On a more upbeat note someone has done their Homework on the Hydra Weapons IE the Flying Wing America Bomber and the VTOL Fighter..What for me that really took the Wee Wee was that Hydra have developed totally unstoppable Weapons both light and heavy and yet they still get their bottoms kicked by a rag tag mish mash of allied POWS using conventional Weapons..IE the Infamous British Issue Sten Gun,and the 30.Cal Browning LMG...I know its just a Film but it is still way below Par..the acting is Laughable and Wooden..I expected so much more from this Film and it did not do the Captain America Genre ANY Justice.I do not like this Film.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disjointed Mess of a Film, 14 Oct 2012
This review is from: TrollHunter [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I have sat through this Dross TWICE,once on my own and again with a few friends, and i can certainly say this Film is certainly unworthy of the Hype surrounding it.The Film is made on a shoestring and it shows, the acting is awful as are the low Budget effects. The Film itself is very slow moving and tries to imitate the Blair witch type of Filming. The Trolls had me in stitches, they looked very much like Dr.Teeth from the Muppett Show.Sorry to say but this Film is certainly plumbing the depths of Low Budget production.I honestly expected more from this Film and i was sadly let down. The Box cover is very misleading. If you are expecting decent Monsters forget it..the whole Film looks like it has bee put together by a bunch of Students for rag week.To sum up this Film is total Garbage..AVOID.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad simply average, 10 July 2012
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: StarHawk (PS3) (Video Game)
Some people have raved on about this Game, and how good the Multi player is etc,etc,..well i am 15 Hours in to the Game and i really have to report that it is all rather average to say the least. The Campaign is straightforward enough and is basically prepping you for the Multiplayer, the Enviroment Graphics are very good, but the vehicles and People dont quite come up to scratch, and the weapons really lack any feel, and certainly dont deliver much damage to the enemy. In the Multiplayer, there are some small glitches and the most common seems to be vehicles being able to sometimes drive through Walls,Hills,People and other vehicles,i have also noticed that sometimes in the larger Multi player Games that your Battle Build will also freeze up for a few seconds which can be most frustrating.Another very very annoying part of both the Campaign and the Multi player are the player controls themselves, the worst part being changing your weapons over, you may well have 5 weapons at one point but just try selecting them easily, you should get a trophy for just being able to do this.Having said all this i am still playing both Campaign and Multi player, however i certainly would advise prospective buyers to rent before they buy,and if they do decide to get it,not to pay over £20.00 for it because in all honesty thats about all this Game is worth.

3.0 out of 5 stars Failed to Deliver, 11 Mar 2012
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Battlefield 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
I am an avid Fan of the Battlefield Franchise, but after racking up 180 Hours of Gameplay on BF3 i can honestly say that it simply Fails to deliver a satisfying Gaming Experience unlike BFBC2 which was a cracking Game.I am 53 and not some spotty Teenage Geek.I will be as objective and Honest as possible.

Firstly the Multi Player. The Graphics in BF3 are none to great,in fact they seem downright Cartoony when compared to games like COD and Killzone3,.the average type graphics look like something from a PS2 Game.Up close there is very little detail on Soldiers or Vehicles,Same goes for the Scenery on the Maps. The Destructible enviroments are still a lot of Fun and do give a nice touch to the Game. The Maps themselves are very large apart from Seine Crossing, and Underground Metro..The Big Maps are fine but more often than not you will spend a lot of time running to or from an objective only to be killed by a Camping Sniper or a Helicopter, which brings me on to the Helos and Jets..They are both absolute Pigs to learn to Fly,there are tutorials available on youtube to help you but when actually flying in a Combat scenario you will quickly find yourself shot down.In BFBC2 many Gamers complained that the Helos were ruining the Game by their Battlefield Domination,so when i found that the Engineer in BF3 was armed with Stinger,Igla, and Javelin Missiles i thought that the Helos dominance was over...WRONG..In the early days of BF3 1 Missile was enough to bring down any Aircraft or Helo, but the Helicopter Whores cried so much that Dice have now nerfed these weapons so as to make them virtually useless. In BF3 the Soldier can now go in to the Prone position..but you will find yourself stuck in Rocks and trees more often than not.The Weaponary available is pretty much the same as BFBC2 only now you have an annoying series of unlocks for each weapon, the feel of the Weapons is simply all wrong, one Weapon unlock that i really hate is the Bipod attachment which tends to have a mind of its own and will deploy just when you dont want it to..result you get killed. One nice weapon is the Mortar, but it attracts a lot of enemy interest. The Squad based play is not so hot,as it is difficult to join friends and when you finally do the in squad comms are simply rubbish..everyone sounding like Norman Collier. The Tanks and AFVs are good and have plenty of Punch in the firepower depts..but wtf is the Homing Tank Shell all about?,i used it a few times and it does nothing. The Campaign is a confused mish mash story that i didnt pay much attention to and nor will you.I can only give BF3 3 Stars overall. If you want the real deal in a Squad based Multi player go for BFBC2 or Killzone 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb piece of Kit, 11 Jan 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I am in no way an Audiophile or a Techy, but i do have a lot of friend who are.As an avid PS3 Gamer these Headphones seemed to be too good to be true,i was especially attracted to this product by the Sony brand Name plus the promise of true 7:1 Virtual Surround sound, and that the Headphones are wireless.I had initially considered buying Turtle Beach or Trittons, but decided against these products as reviews informed me that both products will simply not match the performance of the Sony Headphones and are way over priced.

1)Comfort- The Headphones are very comfortable, and i regularly use them for over periods of 3/4 Hours of non stop Gaming, and the Comfort is exceptional, your ears wont get sweaty,or start to ache owing to the oversized ear pads. The Headphones are very light, and are totally wireless.

2)Sound- The Sonys deliver the goods, the Surround sound really will bring your Game to Life.I play BF3 a lot,and the Surround sound really enlivens the Game with previously unheard sounds IE the sounds of Waves breaking on the Beach, plus Birdsong,Trees rustling in the Wind,.Weapons sound even more realistic,as do vehicles and Aircraft..you can actually hear fast moving Jets,Helos,Tanks,Jeeps, and LAVS..plus Sniper "Ping" becomes really scary if you are pinned down. The Multi player Comms are crisp and clear,a nice touch is the extendable Mic Boom, this can be extended or retracted to suit the users personal preference. When the Mic is active there is a nice Blue LED at the end of the Mic which glows Blue when the Bluetooth Mic is active.

3)Controls- 2 Slider Controls one on each side of the left hand side of the Headphones just above the ear pad,one controls the Volume, and the second controls the Voice/Game Mix.Above the Sliders sits the Virtual Surround sound on/off button. To turn the Headphones on/off simply press the touch pad situated on the left hand side of the Headphones. When switching the Headphones on/off a display will appear in the top right hand corner on your TV when you are Gaming..The display will show 4 small icons these indicate.

1 = Stereo Audio Extension is switched on,and virtual Surround Sound is enabled.
2 = Displays Volume Level.
3 = Displayed when the Mic is turned off.
4 = Displays Battery Charge.

4)- Charging..simply connect the headphones via a USB Cable,to the USB port on the Headphones, this in turn charges the Lithium Battery in the Headphones, whilst the Headphones are charging the LED on the Mic Boom will glow Red,after charging it will simply wink out,and then you know you are fully charged and ready for mor more Gaming.I charge my Headphones from my Lap Top.

5)- Price, simply look around on line for the best deal,i got mine from E-Bay for £69.00 inc P&P from Canada of all places..i hope my review has been informative. As a footnote,i forgot to mention that these Headphones will NOT provide Surround Sound with DVDs or Blu Rays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Attention Gamers, 7 Jan 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Prospective buyers will have read all the Technical Blurb about this product.I am a hardcore Gamer playing up to 4 to 7 hours a day at Weekends, and around 2 Hours an evening weekdays..and i have to say i am mightily impressed with this product..firstly they are so very comfortable to wear. The Sound quality is something else..i have been playing BF2 and BF3 since their release and i have to admit that the surround sound really opens up these Games..the sounds of Vehicles and Gunfire are sooo much more enhanced,as are the sounds of Aircraft and Helos flying overhead..The VOIP is very good in small squads..i just hope EA sort out their Bandwidth problems. The set up is so easy..no messing about..simply just plug in the base unit to your PS3s USB port and away you go.The 2 slider controls can be slightly fiddly at first but you soon get used to them. The side mounted extendable Mic is a great idea, but i have to say that i do find the side mounting fairly flimsy and not that particularly well made..these are just minor gripes, and i really do love these Headphones as they are really great value for Money, and they will really improve your overall gaming experience..just buy them and i am sure you wont be dissapointed.

I am a real fan of FPS Games and RPG,i must admit that i have never been keen on Games developed by Betheseda..The Fallout Series and Oblivion come to mind, but i am happy to say that RAGE vindicated Bethesada,it has a really good Sci Fi storyline,Very Very nice Graphics.I am particularly impressed with the massive Maps, and in depth characters. The Game itself is also very, very good value for Money.Heaps of Quests,Side Missions...the list gets longer...This Game will appeal to a wide spectrum of Gamers, simply due to its diversity and for sheer value for Money and content i consider it bang on the Money, and well worth the expenditure.I have to admit that i find this Game very addictive.
