5.0 out of 5 stars Prodigious XXI century science fiction, 23 Mar. 2016
Agile prose, sharp characters, multilayered stories; these 5 books (so far) have managed to capture both my attention and imagination to the point I've read them in a week, non-stop. G. S. Jennsen delivers the best science fiction I have read in a long time, full of hard angles and, seemingly, a deep Asimov core.

Treat yourself: go buy all of them. Do it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound, build quality and features, 2 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this recently to replace a dead set of cheap but effective studio monitors I had connected on to the entertainment system on my front room. Right now this is connected via optical link to a small HTPC running Kodi, a PS3 and ocassionally something via the analog RCA in. They all work perfectly.

First, it's longer than you think; roughly the width of a 40" television.

Second, sound is excellent. Soundstage is nice and clear in stereo if only a little closed; in surround mode it completely fills up the room with sound (losing a little bottom end weight however - typical from pseudo surround). The sub is amazing for what it is; your bowels will feel every single rumble and hum. The "clear voice" function is subtle yet fairly effective. All in all I was surprised of just how well these sound especially considering the price bracket. Movies, series and TV all sound amazing. Obviously not as good as a proper HIFI set up for music, but sound does come out solid and balanced and enveloping - you can definitely do some listening with these.

Thirdly, build quality is proper. Solid and nicely put together. Looks like the sort of thing Darth Vader would have in his torture chamber.

LED: Some people complain about not being able to work out the LEDs from a distance because small labels. You will need eagle eyes to read the labels on ANYTHING at the sort of distance you'll have a TV set at. The LEDs form a certain pattern for audio modes you end up memorising (eg surround on, clear voice on, etc). They all light up when modifying volume or subwoofer level, forming a progress bar. Brightness auto-subdues after a few seconds of touching a control, you know they're there but they won't burn your retinas even with the lights off. Really nicely thought of all in all.

Remote is tiny and light, but effective - no need to point exactly at the unit for it to work. Controls are clear and sufficient. I haven't tried the IR relay to the TV as I have no need for it.

All in all a solid purchase; worth every penny.

A proper, solid cable. Gets me around 1500mah on an Anker charger which is pretty much as high as non USBC can go. Minimal and recyclable packaging, and it comes with a little velcro strap to tidy the cable up for transport.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent stuff, 17 Nov. 2015

It's a good, cheap case. Fits perfectly, the cut outs are in the right places and frankly, it looks savage (got it in red). Buttons click fine. Doesn't mess your screen protector.

The not so good: it's quite bulky (which I don't mind and I knew in advance), and the buttons are difficult to find with your fingers without looking as the edges aren't flat. The kickstand is difficult to pull out.

Other than that, it's a keeper for the time being, until I can find something like the Spigen with a kickstand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Proper good stuff, 20 May 2015

Super comfortable - they won't crush your cranium, and despite I have fairly large ears they cover them perfectly. I use them 4 or 5 hours a day without any hearing fatigue at respectable listening levels.

The build quality is great - even though they fold on to themselves, they aren't even the tiniest bit flimsy. Cable is definitely long enough and very thick, almost impossible to tangle even. The downside is that using them on the go is a little awkward. Theres virtually no sound leakage however, and I've driven them loud to test as I work on a desk surrounded by other people.

The sound quality is outstanding. Frequency response seems quite flat - crisp and clear sound yet still chunky without any sort of bias towards the very high and bottom ends you can find on gimmicky fashion headphones such as beats. Stereo image is wide and air yet focused.

I use these for normal listening while I work, but also for referencing mixes when I'm on the studio. They measure up fairly well with my Sennheiser HD600 considering the price, and provides a slightly different perspective on my mixes - these are closed back (like the majority of consumer headphones out there) as opposed to the sennies.

Have this now on my front room and it works like a charm. I regularly have two smartphones a 10" tablet hooked up to it simultaneously and they charge up really quickly. It's really solid, well built, doesn't seem to get too hot even when charging all of the above.

Plugs to mains via a kettle type cable, instead of a plug built into the body of the charger. Even though the unit isn't too big or heavy, I much prefer this arrangement.

Packaging is also excellent with a lot of attention to detail in terms of instructions and customer service contact details.

Didn't know this brand before, I'm glad I do know. Quality stuff.

Enough said. Technically is a minter (sound, graphics, you name it), playability is very very good, it's long enough (I haven't finished it yet!), you will hardly be disappointed.

Build quality is great, it's a sturdy piece of kit. On the side that's in contact with the console there's fabric to avoid risking any scratches on it. Both cables (so you can charge the battery with the grip on either position) go in snugly and flush, not sticking out. Battery life x2 really as it seems able to charge one complete battery (although you'd probably be better off disconnecting when you ain't playing, charging a battery is a process that wastes energy that you could spend playing). Well pleased with this.
