Microsoft Office 365 Home, Licence Card, 5 Users, 1 year subscription (PC/Mac)
Microsoft Office 365 Home, Licence Card, 5 Users, 1 year subscription (PC/Mac)
Price: £64.02

5.0 out of 5 stars It works and is great value, 7 May 2015
Two questions.

Does it install and work as described on my intended Devices? 5yr old Dell Laptop and brand new MacBook Air. YES

Does it provide good value? YES

Without question if you make use of what the subscription offers. For example:

1TB of online cloud storage that would cost more than this subscription.

You have two or more devices.

You need or want to keep up with Microsoft's three year product updates.

For others there are alternatives from Google, Apple, and Opensource that may have already come bundled with your device/service or can be acquired for free.

A Short History of China
A Short History of China

3.0 out of 5 stars good easy read but not a read to remember, 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It may satisfy those with a hunger for chronological facts but I felt it missed a compelling narrative or picture painted with words.

I am not going to remember a word of what I've read in three months time!

3.0 out of 5 stars maybe had more impact when originally written, 2 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This might be worth rewriting to remove present day references that with the passage of time, no longer seem historically relevant.

It would also read better if the author wrote without assuming everyone knew who he was. At times it can seem that he over plays his significance in public life.

But it's a worthwhile read and is honestly written. It's just a bit confusing as for example he jumps from present day to history and from political policy to medical illness.

3.0 out of 5 stars worth a read, 30 Dec. 2014

It's worth a read, especially if you've already read the prequel. The suspense and twists kept me reading. Only three stars as I wasn't totally convinced by the plot and characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars pretty good murder mystery, 11 Nov. 2014

To give any more of a critique might spoil the mystery. I read the full book end to end. That says something

Philips Hue Lux Personal Wireless Lighting Starter Kit (2 x A19 E27 LED Light Bulbs, 1 Bridge)
Philips Hue Lux Personal Wireless Lighting Starter Kit (2 x A19 E27 LED Light Bulbs, 1 Bridge)

5.0 out of 5 stars just expensive light bulbs or shining light on what is going on in the world, 3 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ok so the starter pack isn't cheap. But once I'd decided to swallow this initial outlay then I decided to compare the individual light bulb cost on a like with like basis.

The Hue Lux (white only) and Hue (colours) seem roughly 2-3 times the equivalent LED Bulbs without an intelligent home system.

I read that some people think this is bad value given that we've had dimmer switches and timers for years and colour LED bulbs with remotes are on the market already.

This is true but probably discounts the benefits of more easily controlled lighting.

You won't get that until you've tried it, Read the Philips Hue website and you may not get it. Read all about the underlying zedbee technology and most won't get it. Read all about IFTTT (if this then that) and you may end up thinking wow that's cool but I am not sure what I've understood.

Ok so I probably should have just said that if you can afford it then the worst you've done is buy some expensive bulbs that end up working like normal bulbs. The next best thing is that all they do is a better job of setting individual dimmer switches or timers. Then you may just kind of like the possibility to change colour, tone and feeling of a room without the hassle of a special remote.

But what about the idea of using light to indicate what is going on in the world?

What's the setup like? Easy. Fit baynet to screw adapters if needed. Screw in the light bulbs. Turn them on. Plug in the base station to your ethernet router and power on. Download and start the app on your mobile/tablet device. Follow instructions. You're off.

Not as good as I expected - although maybe that is because I'm a Simon Kernick fan who does a similar hard hitting genre but in my view much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars I tried another brand's similar Rear LED light with USB charging. These are better., 3 Oct. 2014
This review is from: Lezyne Femto Rear Light - (Sports)
I tried another brand's similar Rear LED light with USB charging. These are better.

As it turned out the other brand was fragile, had less attachment options and I felt unsafe not being able to carry batteries for an immediate fix if the USB charge ran out.
