5.0 out of 5 stars AA's best offering yet., 2 Sep 2001
Although this was recorded before once sent, avenger or the crusher, it is definitely their best album. I'm not sure what happened, but i think its been re-recorded, its certainly better quality than once sent. Its five tracks, but they are works of beauty. There is a lot more reference to norse mythology here than in the other albums, and the music is more epic, of huger proportions than, well, anything. This is beyond music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The five return..., 2 Sep 2001
This review is from: Crusher [VINYL] (Vinyl)
Friends of the suncross, further your mind, the mighty norseman have returned with another 50 minutes of pure glory. The band have grown up, and this album shows it. Technical tracks like "b*stards of a lying breed" and "as the crow flies" show the guitarists new talent, and johanns control of his huge lungs... But the bonus track is a mystery... Countermelodys on each guitar rather than the usual rhythm lead, boingy noises and disorted vocals all lead to... the best track on the album? It's strange how poor recording often carry so much more weight.
Incidently, the cymbals on this album are crystal clear, previously they were just backgrounhd noise, but I havent heard another album like it, its quite amazing. Course, this is vinyl I'm talking about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic and glorious, yet hardcore metal?, 2 Sep 2001
This review is from: AVENGER (Audio CD)
Five hundred norseman invade my thoughts, hardened steel clashes upon battered armour, crimson sprays forth, and the battle is begun. No band can bring forth emotion like this. It's incredible, i mean it, beyond credibility, you cannot believe me until you buy the album. Rolling riffs combine with buzzsaw sound to produce such a full soundstage, while hoarse throating and crashing symbols give an incredibly mellow and pleasing noise. My mum likes this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars is good shit., 23 Oct 2000

This is the definition of metal. Powerful riffs tear through your soul and grasp your very heart, squeezing the power through your body, your lifeblood seeps away to be replaced by the power of amon amarth. Pure metal, check for more. Highly reccomended
