by Archibald Robertson
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece of Scholarship, 13 April 2015

This is work, which I thought might no longer be available, was a real 'find'. It is a work of genuine scholarship by a theologian who wears his learning lightly and helps the reader to understand profound ideas with clarity of thought and writing.

Rameau: Pièces de Claveçin (2 CDs) performed by Christophe Rousset was recently chosen as the top recommendation by the reviewer on BBC Radio 3 CD Review. That was good enough for me, and I wasn't disappointed when I listened to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for All who Love Bach's Music, 8 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Beautifully illustrated and written by a maestro and scholar who has dedicated his life to interpreting Bach's music and making it available to the public. Those who read it will not only gain insight into Bach's genius but also gain a greater understanding of and ability to appreciate his music, particularly his Cantatas, when they listen to it.
