5.0 out of 5 stars From the people who invented how "sci-fi" should sound..., 6 Nov 2011
This review is from: Forbidden Planet (Audio CD)
Through their work on this film Louis and Bebe Barron have single handedly invented the way that sci-fi sounds. In the same way that we almost instinctively know how Western or War film music sounds, this soundtrack has had as profound an effect on all futuristic films that followed it and set the benchmark. The film itself did this for how sci-fi looks as well.

Truly original, truly influential, this is a must for anyone that is interested in the history of electronic music; as the same way that the film is for the history of cinema.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly from the Golden Age..., 19 Jan 2008
Like the first reviewer I first read this in the 60's and was delighted to find the stories as fresh on rereading as they were when I first came across them. This is a collection that I can read again and again. All the stories are tightly plotted and the characters rich and vibrant. If you like your sci-fi wry and humorous you will not be disappointed!
