4.0 out of 5 stars unexpected, but inspiring, 21 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you think a book has to have structure - a clear beginning, middle and end - a clear thesis, then perhaps this is not the book for you. But if you are looking for a little poetic insight into the mind of a man who knows how to push himself to the limits and beyond, then this is a great read!

3.0 out of 5 stars To gory to enjoy, 16 Jun. 2007
This review is from: Saw 2 [DVD] (DVD)
Saw II is full of gripping and mostly unpredictable twists and turns, but just a little to gory to actually enjoy!

The Activists Guide to the Internet
The Activists Guide to the Internet
by Fiona Osler
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Packed with examples and references, 23 May 2005
The Activists Guide to the Internet is more like a comprehensive resource full of examples and references for NGOs and activists who have made good use of the Internet. If you are looking for examples, or for an organisation to hookd up to, then this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Christian Book of Living and Dying, 9 Oct. 2004
I read this book shortly after reading the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche, and would strongly recommend that everyone read both of these books - they compliment each other excellently (although Conversations with God is definitely easier to read, especially if you are familiar with Christian tradition).
Conversations with God is straightforward and frank. It doesn't try to answer life's great questions as much as it tries to show you that you already know the answers! Curiously, these two books helped me to see how to great religions can lead to the same answers from very different starting points without contradicting each other in any way.

Game Theory at Work: How to Use Game Theory to Outthink and Outmaneuver Your Competition

4.0 out of 5 stars Humorous and educational, 3 May 2004
My first exposure to game theory was dry and somewhat boring to say the least. So congratulations to James Miller for making it a laugh a minute (almost) without losing the value of the discipline.
I especially enjoyed the game theory proofs of why the Mafia enjoys a competitive advantage in crime, and why smokers are, ceteris paribus, less trustworthy than non-smokers.
This is not a book aimed at those doing there PhD in economics, but rather one aimed at ordinary- and business-people looking for a new slant on everyday problems related in an easy to understand and enjoyable fashion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and Accessible, 3 May 2004
As an amateur / beginner yogi, I found this book extremely informative and accessible. The photographs as fantastically illustrative and the text is simple and straightforward. The book clearly explains how to start of with the very basics, and build yourself up at your own pace.
