5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful - a real trip down memory lane., 7 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This was an early Christmas gift and i absolutely love it! This really takes me back to my childhood, and to a time when the world was young and people were nice. If anyone out there is reading this review and is fed up of the constant misery that is the news, X-Factor and celebrities mugging for the camera then buy this and cheer yourself up, you won't regret it. The Walton's are just as good now as they were back then, and this is in no small part to the heartwarming writing of Earl Hamner, and the cast who brought his writing to life. As there are so many DVD's in this collection you're bound to come across some episodes that you've forgotten, (as i did) so make yourself a cuppa, sit back and enjoy.

The DVD collection does come with German writing, but plays in English with the option of German subtitles should you want them. Considering this set contains the entire series this is an absolute bargain, and should keep you going through the cold winter months. Heartily recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth reading, 13 Sept. 2009
A book written from an insiders point of view, and gives plenty of useful advice and more importantly a list of what NOT to do! I have to say my CV looks considerably better after reading this, and the interview questions section was eye opening; how do you answer ''if you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be''?!
Well laid out and well written; thumbs up.

Collecting Religious Artifacts
Collecting Religious Artifacts

2.0 out of 5 stars Limited use and out of date, 18 Aug. 2009
I bought this book simply because i couldn't find a book on religious collectables anywhere else, and to be honest it's of limited use. It was published in 1996 so needs updating, and although the prices given in the guide were apparently supplied by Southerby's, i get the feeling that some have just been plucked out of thin air.

As a recent reviewer has mentioned, the photographs are in black and white, and in some cases badly photographed making identification difficult; there are also no additional photographs from other angles which could be useful, especially when trying to find out where a piece was made etc.

All in all this book just seems hastily put together with no real effort made in regards to layout and visuals, which for an identification and value guide should really be paramount. If you can buy the book for a couple of pounds/dollars then do so, but i wouldn't spend any more on it than that. Thumbs down from me i'm afraid.
