Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I love this brand of moulding cream, it smells wonderful, I have short hair so I don't need a lot. I'm able to give my hair volume and style with this. Plus it's re workable throughout the day. Unlike some cheaper brands I've tried it washes out without a trace. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars WELL WRITTEN, 11 July 2014
This review is from: Bride of the Lion (Paperback)
This is the first read for me by this author, she hasn't written that many books but she's certainly very talented. This story set in the twelfth century is a tale of love, murder and betrayal. Robert de Langley the Lion of Normandy is determined to regain his lands and properties back from a Norman knight William Montagne. While William is off to meet the king Robert takes his chance, and pretending to be delivering supplies he gains entrance to the castle which very quickly falls to him. Williams youngest daughter Jocelyn is brave and not the slightest bit afraid to stand up to Robert. Her two siblings Brian and Adelise are older. But Brian is with their father. Adelise although older and considered more beautiful than the dark and exotic Jocelyn, is reduced to constant bouts of crying leaving Jocelyn to deal with the invaders alone.

Jocelyn had never been her fathers favourite, she was the child of his much despised second wife. In fact he treats Jocelyn little better than a servant. She's attracted to Robert, but when King Stephen hears of the escalating trouble he arrives and pronounces a solution. Robert will marry William's eldest daughter. But Adelise is horrified and runs away. So Robert is forced to marry Jocelyn.

While this is really well researched and written, it's meant to be a romance and to a degree it is. But the author seems more preoccupied with the historical details happening at that period in history and the fight for the throne of England between King Stephen and Henry of Anjou (the future Henry II). I did like the two main characters but any problems between them were to quickly glossed over SPOILER...... Shortly after their marriage while Robert is staying elsewhere Jocelyn arrives and finds another woman in his bed. His excuse given to Jocelyn was "she was there and she was attractive, but I only thought about you" the matter was immediately forgotten, really! It was things like that I didn't like. But I still thought that overall this is a good book, more so if you're really into this period in history, as there's plenty of detail.

1.0 out of 5 stars SERIOUSLY!, 10 July 2014
This review is from: An Independent Wife (Hardcover)
Even though this was first published in 1982 that wasn't the dark ages. But this story is almost medieval except it's set in modern times.

Seven years ago Sarah had married Rhy, he was 28 to her 18. He was a reporter often travelling away on dangerous assignments, Sarah unable to cope with this asked him to stop. He refused and walked out. He never made any attempt to contact her after that.

Present day and Sarah has reinvented herself, instead of Sarah she's now called Sallie, she's no longer the innocent and niaeve chubby little teenager. She has a degree, she's lost weight, gained self confidence, and ironically is a reporter travelling the world on dangerous assignments as her husband Rhy once did. Then suddenly the magazine that she works for has a new owner, it's her husband Rhy. Hoping that he won't recognise her she tries to stay out of his way.

There may be some SPOILERS here. Once Rhy realises that his wife is one of his employees he goes all out to get her back. That's after not bothering where she was for seven years. He stops her travelling telling her it's too dangerous. He threatens any man she talks to, he stops her from leaving the job saying he will get her blacklisted. When she arrives home one day he's had all her furniture put in storage and moved her clothes to his flat. He wants her back he wants children as well. But during all this he's still seeing another woman. As for Sarah/Sallie, weak doesn't quite describe her, she has no backbone at all. She thought a good fight, but just caved into Rhy every single time. This is the first time I've read anything by this author I won't be reading anymore.

You only need the smallest amount a little goes a long way. I love this eye cream, I have noticed a real improvement since I started to use this at night in conjunction with the Midnight Recovery Oil. The area under my eyes looks less puffy and the skin is smoother. A brilliant buy.

This oil is used at night after cleansing the skin. All you need is a couple of drops, so this bottle goes a very long way. Two drops rubbed between the palms of your hands warms the oil making it easy to use. As I am over 60 I did not expect miracles. But I have seen effects that are noticeable, not just by myself but my family as well. In my case it has had a smoothing effect on my skin, it has also evened out my complexion. I shall make sure I'm never without this product in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars TENSE AND GRIPPING STORY, 9 July 2014
This review is from: HIS (Kindle Edition)
To the outside world Bethany lives a life of privlege, she's been to the best schools, wears designer clothes and has a handsome fiance. So you'd think she'd be happy, but she's not. Her clothes and fiancé have been picked out for her by her parents. She'd like to escape but she doesn't really have the courage to do so. But that decision is taken away from her when her father's personal bodyguard Abe kidnaps her. Abe has worked for Bethany's father for the past year, from the first moment he laid eyes on Bethany he knew she would be his. No one would prevent him from getting his way, he is a lethal killer.

This is a darker story than I'm used to reading from this author, but I have to say she did this really well. I liked how she didn't wimp out on making Abe become softer or vulnerable. He's a cold and calculating killer, and he stays that way. If he has a weakness it's Bethany, but even then he has complete control of himself and her. For her part Bethany is shocked as to why Abe has taken her, she has noticed during the past year while he worked for her father his eyes on her, watching her, she knows he's very dangerous a predator. There is lots of emotion between these two, Bethany is confused by her feelings towards Abe, she finds him attractive but is disgusted with herself for doing so. The authors warning that this is not a hearts and flowers romance is spot on. But it is a gripping and hard to put down book.

4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD STORY, 7 July 2014
Everything that didn't quite work for me in the first book of this series, the over the top possessive hero, the woman who's human and his intended mate and their age difference were all better done here. In fact it was just better all round. I liked the characters more, the chemistry between Brandon and Jess was far more potent and passionate. The other characters I liked as well but especially Jess's two friends Zeke and Travis, I liked the little twist with them. I'm looking forward to the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars LIKED IT, 7 July 2014
Ava is a wolf shifter and the sister of Kane and Rane who featured in the first two books. Logan is a human male and the brother of Rane's mate Kirby. He's a bit of an idiot and says many hurtful things. He dislikes werewolves, yet finds he's attracted to Ava even though he fights against it. That is what was best about this book the changes in Logan's character. He went from zero to hero.

I liked this story Ava and Logan were really hot together. There's lots of emotion and passion between them. The fight continues with the demons and there are great action scenes as well. I look forward to the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars BETTER THAN THE FIRST BOOK, 7 July 2014
In this follow up to Kane's Mate (Armageddon Mates) it's Kane's brother Rane's turn to get his mate. Kirby has moved away from her home to get away from her over controlling brothers and parents. Then she meets Rane a wolf shifter who's just as much if not more possessive than her family. Rane knows that Kirby is his mate the minute he sees her, Kirby is a human but enhanced she has an affinity with animals. Kirby finds it difficult to believe that this gorgeous hunk is interested in her. But he literally sweeps her off her feet.

I liked this second book a whole lot more than the first. I thought Rane and Kirby's characters were very relatable. Kirby is not quite so full in as Faith was from the first story, though having said that Faith features heavily in this and is just as domineering. The balance between the romance and action parts of the story were very well balanced as well. Hot scenes were well mixed with the great action parts. A recommended read.

2.0 out of 5 stars SHIFTER ROMANCE, 7 July 2014
Sasha has moved to the US from Australia with her mother who wanted to be with her new man. Sasha is still in high school and is just coming up to her eighteenth birthday. One of her newly made friends is Brittany. When Sasha stays the night at Brittany's house she meets her brothers. Savron is Brittany's oldest brother and at twenty eight he's ten years older than Sasha. But what Sasha doesn't know is that Brittany and all her family are lion shifters. Savron knows immediately that Sasha is his destined mate, but she's human and knows nothing about shifters or their existance.

I like this authors books. This one though was only okay for me. Savron and Sasha just seemed like a mismatched couple. For me it felt as though Sasha was left little choice in wether she wanted to be with Savron, it seemed on quite a few occasions that she was backed into a corner. Savron wasn't happy that she had interests which included dancing, he was jealous of her partner, and when he pushed her to move in with him, I was gobsmacked when her mother hardly said a word! But then once having got his own way he ignored her by working longer hours. The author didn't help matters by constantly reminding the reader that Sasha was only eighteen. Therefore it wasn't surprising to me when she behaved like a teenager. I usually love the older guy younger woman trope, but it didn't quite work here IMO he just seemed too old for her and she too young for him.
