Superb film, but why the terrible dubbing?, 28 April 2002
A magical film, with a brilliantly eccentric cast, plot and visuals. However, I would recommend that no one buys this edition as the beauty of the story and quality of the acting is ruined by bad dubbing of the french into english. Other of his films such as Amelie work excellently with subtitles, so why resort to terrible dubbing. This is not a childrens film - all the reviews called it a fairy tale for adults - so why treat the audience as children and have this appalling dubbing?
