I use these as a substitute for standard issue navy socks and they've never let me down! Bridgedales usually come with a 3 year guarantee which I've never had to use because they never give me blisters and power through everything, great product.

Maverick One: The True Story of a Para, Pathfinder, Renegade

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, energetic and funny!, 23 July 2013
Blakeley's last book, pathfinder, sent shivers down my spine at almost every turn as it is true story of gallantry and heroics rarely even portrayed in the cinemas.

Maverick one has somehow blown all my high expectations out of the water as it follows the path of a young man through his troubled schooling and successful sporting achievements to rma sandhurst, para selection and eventually pathfinder selection. In between he also details tours of some of the most dangerous war zones the british army has ever faced.

Hopefully his books will sway the appalling public opinion of the armed forces and help them recognise the sacrifice that so many men and women make every day.

An outstanding read!

This review is from: Diver (Paperback)
Tony Groom writes about his life from a young lad who attends a nautical school, though his career as a mine clearance diver and onto his career as a commercial diver in the north sea. There is no doubt in my mind that this was the hardest, most stressful, physically demanding job in the Royal Navy during the Falklands conflict. This book proves that some men are made out of pure endurance and strength, however it includes many funny moments in Grooms career from being sent ashore for "attempted mutiny" to having his mates beret sewn onto his head. This is the definition of a page turner and it has made me more excited to start this job in September.
