The Truth of Valour: A Confederation Novel
The Truth of Valour: A Confederation Novel
Price: £2.34

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great story, 24 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have given this four stars because the first 30% just didn't interest me at all and I nearly gave up. But then Torin met up with Presit again and the story started to hot up and I began to get involved and enjoy it. If you have a short attention span you won't miss anything by skipping through the early part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally fabulous, 18 Dec. 2014

This series gets better and better. The characters grow and mature and learn hard lessons. The plot twists and turns and achieves depth, humour and tragedy. I often skip through books when I get bored but there was not a word of this book that I did not read and relish. Enjoyable from beginning to end. Loved Presit.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, 18 Dec. 2014

This is well written and exciting. The main character is very likeable. The whole nightmare scenario is just what we all might fear. I loved the way he embraced what he initially dreaded. Definitely worth reading and I am looking forward to the next one.

Battles, aliens, great heroine and mystery and mayhem. What is not to like about this book. Can't wait to read the next one.

This is unashamedly Rorkes drift in space with aliens. Tremendously well written and very exciting. I loved it and definitely want to read the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous sequel, 23 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Reading about the imperial radch is a bit like walking through Yellowstone Park. All is apparently peaceful and harmonious. Then you start to feel the tensions between the predators. Then, with no change in pace, you become aware that you are walking over the caldera with all the magma bubbling beneath and the whole thing could go up at any moment. Wonderful. I want to read more about Breq and Seiverden and Tisarwat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Complex and riveting, 22 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Do not be put off by the slow start. Like a picture being painted of people and places and different cultures it takes some time to fall into the story and where it has come from and where it is going to. I loved the different characters and the strong dynamic between them. This book is definitely head and shoulders above the usual book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining space romp, 20 Nov. 2014
This review is from: Darkship Thieves (Kindle Edition)
Loads of original ideas and a homely cosy family feel to this space opera story. Mixed in with violence, murder, mayhem and romance. Suitable for teenagers and young adults.

2.0 out of 5 stars Got a bit frustrating, 18 Nov. 2014
The whole story rests on you accepting the completely illogical decision to avoid microwaving the crew which would kill the legion but also people if they are infected. Bearing in mind that once they are infected they become ruthless killers and the human species is about to collapse. Time for some tough decisions. Instead they faff about and I lost all patience with it.

Sword Bearer (Return of the Dragons Book 1)

3.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing, 16 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is rather gripping. Somehow you are drawn into the life of the main character. You roll along from one magical event to another. It was only at the end when I had time to consider the story that I realised that I hadn't come across any dragons and i don't actually know what the point of all the magic is about. I think the story is strung out to make it a trilogy.
