5.0 out of 5 stars Why buy new when 2nd hand is as good at a fraction of the price, 4 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
22p for a book that retails new for 18 is an absolute no-brainer. Unless you are giving the book as a gift, but even then the recipient should appreciate the re-cycling and therefore 'Green' element to the gift and at such low prices you could give multiple books !!!

win - win - win all round

5.0 out of 5 stars the best compression socks ?, 4 May 2012
I have just performed my own comparison test of 3 different price range compression socks in order to find out if there is any great and noticable difference.
The 3 brands I selected were:-
Top price - CEP Progressive Compression socks
Mid price - Zoot Performance CompressRx
Low price - Asics Sport Compression Sock

From the very start the CEP sock was the most difficult to put on, however this was not a negative as the compression provided by this sock was the best of the 3. The sizing of this sock was by calf circumference as was the Zoot as opposed to shoe size of the Asics.

The Zoot was the next best in terms of compression and this sock has what seems to be a similar weave to the sock all the way from the toe to the top with no seams to irritate. The compression of this sock is stated as 15-20 mmHg and was the most comfortable of the 3.

The Asics like the CEP had Left and Right specific socks and of the 3 provided the least amount of compression. The Asics sock has a panel of thiner material around the ankle which does not exert as much compressive force but allows ventilation at this point, how beneficial this is will only show when it's a lot warmer. This sock is very easy to put on due to the level of compression provided and is comfortable to wear.

The psychological effect of the perceived benefit is obviously greatest for the sock that exerts the greatest compressive force which is from the CEP sock, however the long term benefits will only emerge as time elapses.
My own perception of performance and benefit is for the CEP sock as it is by far the best constructed sock, however this does come at a high price (nearly double) .

When looking at value for money the Zoot sock scores high and is very comfortable due in part to the slightly lower compression, but is it giving the same benefit - I don't know at this point in time.

So the conclusion is that paying the extra does get you a better product with higher compression and better perceived benefit. I would also highly recommend sizing by calf circumference rather than shoe size. For training/racing I go for the CEP and for recovery I use the Zoot and when (or if) it ever gets really hot I will dig out the Asics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job at a competitive price, 25 April 2012

This keyboard represents excellent value for money and performs adequately. OK you would not want to write a novel with it but for the occasional report it is easier to use than any on screen keyboard. It paired effortlessly with both an Android and iPad tablets and is compact and easy to carry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value for the money, 5 Nov 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The reason for purchasing this particular model was a mixture of specification and price and I have not been disappointed with either.

The 2 head tilting system works very well and does a good job of removing unwanted hair. Yes the first time you use it there is a little discomfort but nothing major and using it wet does help.

Cleaning is straightforward and a long bristle brush is provided.

This model appears to be well built and has a very solid feel to it.

There are many other epilators out there costing far more than this model but I doubt that the performance can be worth the extra. Maybe they will last longer - only time will tell but this is not something you are going to use every day.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Panasonic Wet and Dry 2-Head Lady's Epilator even if you are not a lady !(I am a male triathlete and need to keep my legs hair free)

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Bread Maker with one major Flaw, 11 Sep 2011
This breadmaker makes the art of making fresh bread very easy and produces an excellent loaf albeit after nearly 5 hrs (2lb Wholemeal Loaf). Herein lies the one major flaw with this product, the time and more specifically the Delay Timer function.
Picture this - you arrive home from work around 8pm and have an early start the next day (as you have every day) you mix the ingredients, set the delay timer for 4 hrs so that the loaf is finished just as you get up. What a great smell to wake up to - ahh freshly baked bread !! Great. Well it would be only the instructions clearly say that the water in the mixture should be between 21 to 28 deg C which will just not happen after 4 hours of delay (even if you put boiling water in at the start - believe me I have tried).

So you think - well I will just set the baking off as I go to bed at 10:30 - baking finishes 5 hrs later at 03:30 ( now I know I said that I had an early start - but not that early !) at which time the instructions recommend you remove the loaf from the Breadmaker to stop it going soggy. You don't remove it and you get a soggy loaf.

So if you have all day to make bread then this Breadmaker will do the job.
If you want to wake up to the small of freshly baked bread DON'T BUY THIS BREADMAKER as it doesn't do what it says on the box.

Perhaps the boffins at Morphy Richards can sharpen their programming pencils and add in a water warm up cycle - or is that just too easy !!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value Entry Level Running Shoe, 20 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For the price I don't think you could find a better quality Running Shoe. As an entry level shoe it has the Mizuno quality and pedigree with a budget price. Comfortable and well cushioned this is a well made shoe that will give good service to the occasional runner.
