5.0 out of 5 stars Essential viewing..., 23 Sept. 2014

As a fan of this franchise since watching the first film in my early teens I can not reccomend this documentary enough..each film is chronicled in detail with indepth interviews with almost all those involved (I say almost as it seems both Johnny Depp and Patricia Arquette still consider themself above commenting on their big breaks in the movies which is a shame). The extras too are essential viewing containing many treasures including revisiting of locations with some of the former cast from the films.

51 DAYS TO YOUR ULTIMATE BODY
51 DAYS TO YOUR ULTIMATE BODY
by RICH GASPARI
Edition: Paperback
Price: £11.74

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book to set you on your way...., 14 Aug. 2014

If you are a fan of Gaspari, lift weights, or generally looking to be inspired then this book is for you. Like the way it has been broken down into easily maneagable chapters each with a story from his life in order to illustrate to the reader that as he has overcome then so can we (great for dipping into) There are two routines to follow dependant on your goals, a hard gainer for those who are new to weights or struggling to gain size, and a muscle builder for the more experienced (do the hard gainer first then the muscle builder and you get 102 days for the price of 51!) The only gripe is that there are no illustrations or descriptions of how to perform each exercise (but then they can be resrarched on the net for those unfamiliar), plus he tends to overemphasize his own products in the diet sections which are extremely expensive. These minor irritants aside however this is a book to have on your shelf, in your gym bag, etc..., just don't think you are going to be built like Rich at the end of 51 days, but then this is not what the book is about, more it is the means to beginning along the journey to something better...

Real solid piece of kit, I was amazed by how sturdy and heavy this item is. The connection point is pivoted and the handles foam wrapped allowing a comfortable and firm grip. Highly recommended.

Bigfoot
Bigfoot
by Rupert Matthews
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Neat Summary..., 16 April 2014
This review is from: Bigfoot (Paperback)
I am open minded to the possibility of the existence of the colloqually named "Bigfoot" and have collected a small library of books both for and against the possibility of their existence. This book, although far from exhaustive, serves as a great introduction to anyone with even the slightest interest in the subject. It is well presented, easy to read, and is written for the common reader such as myself. Their are some intriquing images within which invite debate. What I consider its strongest point however is that it is not preachy, the evidence is presented but not forcefully so. Overall a fine addition to anyones shelf who has an interest in the subject.....

I would recommend this book to anyone with more than a passing interest in the history of Formula One, it delves deep into that remarkable 2009 season which saw the world of F1 turned upside down by Brawn.

This is not a biography of Ross Brawn however so if you wish to discover more about that man then I am afraid we will all have to wait until he either releases an autobiography or someone comes along and pens his remarkable story (something that would be on my list of want books).

What it is though is the race by race account of a great season, one that has reached a nostalgia factor already with the current domination of Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel, charting the against the odds success of a team that didn't exist only a few months before the start of the racing year and the breakthrough of Jenson Button and final glory of the great Rubens Barrichelo.

I really can not fault it, except perhaps that it lacks a conclusion, it would have been a neater ending had it charted the evolution of Brawn into Mercedes and the moving on of Button to McLaren and Barrichelo to Williams, however definitely five stars and one for the collection (I literally could not wait to read it every opportunity I got).

This is a great book, not so much a biography more a psychological dissection of Schumacher, if, like me, you are a follower of Formula One and particularly if you can remember the man and his career this work will offer answers to why he took some of the decisions he did and also help to understand not just him but the Formula One driver (perhaps all who race and compete) in general. It certainly helps to differentiate between the winner and the mere participant.

Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not definitive..., 29 Oct. 2013

This is a good book, but I felt a little let down that it was not definitive and seemed to skip over certain eras, however I would recommend it to any fan of the series for a decent overview and would recommend Last Of The Summer Wine: The finest vintage as a great companion which helps to fill in some of the missing pieces...

3.0 out of 5 stars Confusing, 29 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I brought this book to supplement my training routine, let's just say that if you are thinking of buying this book in order to get your workouts in in 15 minutes a session then don't, the routines are far longer and real confusing.

However there is some merit to this theory of training, and some interesting exercises that can be used in your routines. If this book is going cheap then pick up a copy but don't over pay for it...
