Red Snow at Tivoli (Inspector Lief Pedersen), 11 Jan 2014
What a waste of time to 1) download and 2)read this book (story).
There was no depth in it all: no believable descriptions of characters, no build up of anticipation at the outcome, basically the story fell short of what we expect from the usual Scandinavian thriller. The plot was laid with a great map and description of WWII Denmark, all helping to create the basis for an exciting storyline to come. However, during the story continual explanations of words used, which are in daily use worldwide were a distraction. The map gave us a false impression of what the story was to become. A great thriller could have developed from the original idea.
I note the other reviews said what had to be said about the translation! Even if it had been translated into correct English, the story was too stilted and straight forward to be a thriller.
All in all it was a liberty asking us to pay £0.77 for this story.
