1.0 out of 5 stars I was disappointed with this radio, 1 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was disappointed with this radio. It has a lovely rich sound but it was unable to clearly receive stations that a much older Sony (20+ years) radio could pick up from the same locations I tried around the house. Another example that the modern versions of these radios do not compare favourably with the older ones. Was meant as a Christmas present but since it was not fit for purpose I returned it. Still looking for a replacement and hearing good things about Grundig.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eurocrime Excellence, 14 Nov. 2008
A thinking man's detective; jazz, food, woman-problems and Marseille as a central character. Rebus in a sexier, sunnier setting. Just buy it - you'll be happy you did and then you will go for the rest of the trilogy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with it, 8 Nov. 2008
This review is from: The Lisbon Crossing (Hardcover)
Any time spent reading this book is time wasted. The story is predictable, the ending hurried and Lisbon (a great city setting for a book - see A Small Death in Lisbon by Robert Wilson) plays only a very minor role. Life is too short to read drivel like this; it took real effort to finish it and then I wondered why I had bothered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, 26 July 2007
This review is from: Black Books: Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
Haven't had such a good laugh for a long time; probably since I first watched Phoenix Nights. This is a great DVD and a must-have for anyone who appreciates clever script writing and great comedy acting. Worth owning it just to watch the wine concocting scene and Manny's SAS survival night. Class stuff.
