A very good read from Robert Ryan. Murders on the Front Line of WW1. Pushes Early one Morning close to one of his best. With Doctor/Major Watson out on his own doing a bit of detective work without the influence of Holmes, or is he?

Once again Ellory comes up with a cracker. I have yet to be diappointed with one of his novels.
You have a bent copper in Vincent Madigan who is cunning and ruthless. In trying to cover his debts with a robbery, it all turns against him. Just when you think he's getting away with it the story takes yet another twist.
RJ Ellory is brilliant in his story telling and has me on the edge of my seat every time.

I was disappointed with this. I had heard a rave review about this on the radio and also found out that Joe Hill was the son of a certain horror writer. Well, imagine to my horror that this story was an absolute load of rubbish. Maybe it's me, but I found myself flicking through the pages in the hope that the story would pick up.
Alas to no avail. Don't think I'll be racing to buy his next one.
