1.0 out of 5 stars Microphone does not work, avoid., 25 Jun 2013
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars

Could not be heard by the people I was talking to, microphone volume is far too low. Checked all my settings and they were set to max yet I could barely be heard. There is a reason this product is £25-£30 cheaper than the original wireless headset, because its total crap. Save your money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Barely readable on Kindle app for smart phones., 11 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Almost £10 for a Kindle book so I thought it should be something special. Well the price was just because it's a comic, which doesn't entirely make sense for me.

However the main problem I have with this is the fact you can barely read it on a smaller kindle device. I use the kindle app for Android on my Samsung S3 mini and this comic is far too small to read the text. There is no ability to zoom in so you are stuck squinting at the tiny text. I gave up after a few pages. The high price is a nice kick in the teeth for a book I can't read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing title from a usually amazing developer., 12 Jun 2012
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Diablo III (PC/Mac DVD) (DVD-ROM)
Like most Blizzard fans I was very much anticipating the release of Diablo 3. However unfortunately I found this one very disappointing. The main reason for this is the repetitive nature and far too short story mode. In a world where RPG gamers are used to long, involved stories in their games (such as Skyrim, Mass Effect), Diablo 3 falls short. Instead of having a decent sized story, the user is just encouraged to repeat the same short game on increasingly higher difficulties to progress to nothing new.

I recently completed the game on Normal (the first difficulty) and I have had no compulsion to continue with it. Fortunately I was on the Blizzard Annual Pass scheme so I received the game for free, however I know if I bought this at the currently huge full price I would be very annoyed with the outcome.

One important thing to bare in mind though is that the gameplay etc. is actually very good and very fun, its just far too short and repetitive.

Graphics 5/5 - Amazing graphics. Gameplay looks beautiful and cinematics are top notch. Game also runs on surprisingly low specs.
Audio 5/5 - No complaints. Voice acting is very good.
Gameplay 2/5 - Very fun too play and you will love your first playthrough. Gets boring quickly after though.
Multiplayer 3/5 - Good idea but seems flawed.

I will remain a stalwart Blizzard fan, but ill hesitate before getting any Diablo products again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - but fails., 29 Mar 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought one of these back in May 2011 and have been happily using it since then. Its very comfortable and the ball moves swiftly. It requires cleaning every now and then, but that is normal for trackball mice. The tiny wireless adapter for the mouse is also very smart.

However my biggest problem is the mouse is starting to fail (March 2012). The right mouse button is capable of staying "held". I do alot of gaming and having the right mouse button click frantically when you attempt to hold it, is very frustrating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, 1 Feb 2011
I have read many BL books including several of the Horus Heresy novels. I was a huge fan of the Space Wolf omnibus and was very excited when I heard about a book tying in this awesome chapter into the heresey era. However it turns out this book was just a huge disappointment. Some reviewers are saying you need to stick with it but im afraid I do not accept that. If a book cannot grab my attention in the first quater then it is a bad book in my opinion.

There is simply nothing interesting about it. The author spends too much time describing things unnecessarily and the narrative often makes reference to other 'lore' events or places which the reader will not understand.

If you have the patience to force your way through a rather boring first half then perhaps you will feel rewarded, but im afraid I wasnt.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disapointing, 2 Dec 2006
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars

I am personally more into the style of strategy games whre you build a base then an army etc. so that may have a big influence in my opinion of this game.

After reading reveiws about how much this game revolves around combat and that the makers tried to take out as much Building & Economy out of it as possible to pump up the combat side of things, i was eager to try it. However i am left disapointed, as to me this game looks like a mediocre build and battle game but with the building part taken out! THe graphics are nothing special and the combat is nothing revolutionary and i found the whole thing repetitive and boring.

There is no skirmish mode and the only single player part of the game is two very boring campaign modes where you can only control 2 of the games 4 races.

The only good thing is the intro movie, which amazon have embedded in the advert! Only buy this game if your well into the no building strategy games (Total etc.) and warhammer or you will find yourself asking why you bothered parting with your money! Back to Dawn of War for me!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for any fan of the LoK series!, 12 Feb 2004
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another fine instalment from Eidos. Any fan of the LOK series will find this game just as good as the last instalments. Also, I see no reason why a newbie to the LoK series will dislike it too!!
The story follows on from the end of the last game, Soul Reaver 2. It follows both of the two main characters of the series, Kain the vampire and Raziel the Wraith. Both battling to find their destiny in the land of Nosgoth.
There are a few differences in this game form the previous ones. One of the best parts of this game is the fact that it follows both Kain and Raziel, both being playable characters and they both follow their own story and both have their own unique characteristics. There is a new combat system too, that introduces a cool new combo system along with some new and old favourite moves. Kain has his vastly improved telekinesis abilities where you can have fun telekinetically throwing your prey around the screen, and Raziel can shift between the materiel realm of the living and the spiritual realm of the dead.
So who will win the battle of the Soul Reavers? The blood thirsty Kain, with his material Soul Reaver blade, or the soul harvester Raziel, with his spiritual Soul Reaver blade.
Buy it, play it and fulfil Kain and Raziel's destiny!!

5.0 out of 5 stars How this was not banned here, i dont know! Wahaha, 9 Feb 2004
This review is from: Manhunt (PS2) (Video Game)
This game is so unbelievable! WARNING: MANHUNT IS NOT FOR -18 & NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!!
You play as James Cash, an Ex-Con sentanced to death. The day comes where he is to be killed, but he wakes up... The story shows that you are in a run-down, derelict city, full of nothing but scum and corruption. You have been forced to star in a sick collection of movies, where you are fighting simply because you will be killed if you don't!
You come across many thugs, criminals, sadists and psychos on your journey where you are constantly coaxed on by the 'director' to brutally murder them, before they brutally murder you! Hide in the shadows, collect and use virtually anything as a weapon and beat the living hell out of anything that moves.
I personally have never been a fan of 3rd person style games, or anything to do with horror, but this game strangly makes me want more and more! The graphics are shockingly realistic and the gameplay will keep you going, while also occasionally checking your own back!
Buy it, before they ban it!! Good ol' Rockstar!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gitaroo Man- The only music based game to buy!, 9 Feb 2004
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Gitaroo Man (PS2) (Video Game)
This game, as the object of the game implies - Rocks!!
You play as U-1, a sad little boy with little self-esteem, who is crap at everything... until now. Your dog (yes, your dog!), Puma, suddenly reveals to you, your heritage as Gitaroo Man; A superhero who defends the world from evil with his guitar!
The game requires the player to battle foes with your musical talent. You play the guitar along with the songs, which includes defending against the enemy's attacks by pressing a correct sequence of buttons. You then attack your enemy by following a trail which represents the music and hitting the notes.
I think this game is very unique, and music lovers will enjoy it as the game includes tunes in the styles of techno, drum & bass/hip-hop, latin, rock, metal and many more. If you can stand the strange Japanese kiddy humour and similar kiddy graphics and you have a good sense of rhythm, this game is for you.
