Enjoyable, with good characters., 23 April 2013
I read this for free online at Smashwords. It had some really well written characters, who I wanted to find out more about. It did not have appalling grammar/spelling errors to distract from the story. The plot was quite simple, as the majority of the story was about personalities and the clash of culture/gender between farm girl and army training camp. I enjoyed the book, am going to re-read it and am waiting impatiently for the next half of the "Fiona Frost Duology" to appear.

Well thought out kit, 21 April 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
My 6 yr old was given this as a gift. It contains everything you need to make 2 designs - a whale and a lion. We had some left over mosaic squares which she used to design her own pattern. I thought the kit was an easy introduction to mosaics and could lead into painted ones using finger tips or foam dabbers, or to self designed ones. My 6 year old found it easy to understand and use, but not so easy that she was bored - I know my 11 year old would like a set of her own, so I think it would be good for a range of ages. Educational? - not sure unless you are doing creative work on mosaics, or the Romans, or looking at patterns, as the mosaics can be patterns eg Greek key pattern. The foam squares are 6.5 mm square, but the picture sheets are shiny, so the squares can be repositioned if needed. Durable? - The pictures you make are nice enough to put on the wall for display. The sticky pads stay on, but can be picked off fairly easily if put in the wrong place. The kit is mess free so in our case was used on Christmas day on Granny's cream carpet!

Great story - not as girly as the book cover suggests!, 17 April 2013
This book is far from the fairytale that the cover on this copy suggests. My edition was much more modern looking, despite dating back to 1977. The story is quite bleak at several points, with betrayal, loss of family, and some rather creepy villains along the way. I'm glad I finally remembered enough of the title to track it down for my daughters to read. Although I was a 'good reader' I remember this book being hard to get into due to the sad start. Persevering was worth it though.

Great safe no tears but lots cheaper from CHC, 16 April 2013
I bought this from the maker direct when my oldest was 5 and got lice at school. We tried a chemical treatment, but it smelt horrid and was very difficult to wash out, particularly from a child that didn't like water on her face! The Bug Buster kit still needs a hairwash, but smells as nice as the shampoo you choose, and if your child gets really restless, you at least have the option of leaving the conditioner in the hair after the combing. It worked really well and removed adult lice, baby lice and both hatched eggs (white nits) and unhatched (grey nits) using the various combs. Provided you are careful to do small sections on long hair, are gentle when combing (so your child lets you do it again) and keep to the timetable of repeat combings, this method is a GREAT way to deal with a tiresome problem. NOTE THAT the product is currently (April 2013) only £8.80 including p+p direct from Community Hygiene Concern who make the product, so I am buying again there not Amazon. [...] With regard to teeth breaking - my last set (bought 2005) never gave me any problems, but I think as the teeth are very fine, if you tried to pull them through a tangle you would bend/break them. It is very important to do small sections because of this and also for comfort!

So badly written you cannot get at the story itself., 12 April 2013
As the other reviews say, this is one of the worst written books I have ever downloaded, even just comparing with the free ones. It is a pity as the actual story could have been quite interesting, but there were too many serious spelling issues and wandering from present to past tense mid sentence. The error that sticks in my mind is the hero holding his horse's "bridal" - I never knew horses got married! Historical inaccuracy one can skate over, but surely we can all use a spellchecker/dictionary? Download with caution if Free. Don't bother if it costs money.

Check price of individual books before buying box set!, 3 April 2013
I have not bought this exact item, as it is currently cheaper to buy the two titles separately, not in a box set. (April 2013) Each title is £1.27, ie less than than half the 2 book box set price. This seems to happen quite often with kindle books and is worth keeping an eye out for when buying parts of sets.

Short but sweet!, 2 April 2013
I'm not sure why the other 2 reviews of this are so bad, but I enjoyed it. It was free when I downloaded it, but is now 77p (March 2013) and is quite short even for that price. If you want a quick, rather gentle storyline involving a werewolf then this could be for you. Unlike some free/cheap reads, it seems to have an acceptable level of grammar and spelling, so you don't get distracted from the "plot."

Rich description of cultural clashes and torn loyalties, 2 April 2013
NO SPOILERS - I read the first volume with low expectations, but after the opening chapters was hooked - in Reza I found a character I wanted to follow. The story takes him through three stages of his life torn between two cultures and having to decide where his loyalties lie at several periods in his life. I didn't find his decisions unrealistic - in fact I thought them admirable - the difficulty of trying to remain true to both cultures came across very clearly. At the end of the trilogy I only had one minor quibble about the fate of a supporting character, and that only because I am too soft hearted and wanted a happier ending for that person than they got. Check the prices of individual volumes v the trilogy combined as the prices seem to vary a bit. Vol 1 free on Amazon currently (March 2013) if you want to try before you buy or read online or download via Smashwords website "Empire (In Her Name: Redemption, Book 1)"

Not for British readers!, 26 Feb 2013
As the other comments indicated this version was going to be full of Americanisms I decided not to order the Kindle book, despite the fact it is currently Free (Feb 2013). Why can't it say it is an American Version in the details. Thank you to the people who have alerted me to this, so I didn't waste my time downloading it.

Fun puzzle construction, 23 Jan 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This was a present for my 10 yr old and she really enjoyed doing it over Christmas. (Once on the big day and again on Boxing Day.) There are a few trickier bits like the hinged pieces at corners which need folding before use and the flat dividers between sections and under the base were awkward to fit firmly to the puzzle. However all-in-all she really enjoys completing it and packs it away carefully so as not to lose pieces! It is good to have a little difficulty included to make it a challenge to complete it. I would recommend this to anyone and will be buying (or adding to wish lists) other puzzles in the same series.
