Revlon PhotoReady Eye Primer and Brightener - 2.4 ml
Revlon PhotoReady Eye Primer and Brightener - 2.4 ml
Price: £6.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be easier to use, 29 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Not overly impressed with usability of this product. It takes a lot of clicks to get the primer flowing on first use, but after that it flows pretty well - perhaps too well, as it's quite tricky to control the amount of product coming out of the applicator.
However, once on the skin it feels nice and blends well.
Not an amazing product, but not a terrible one either considering the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Holds powder well, 29 Jan. 2015

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this, but the head is not quite as big and full as I was hoping.
However, it still has nice, soft bristles that hold powder well. The bristles don't shed, which is also good.
Handle length is pretty standard, so it fits easily into a normal make-up bag.

Really sturdy wire, well made both in terms of a tough coating on the wire and solid connections to the jacks.
Mainly using this to connect my phone/tablet to my stereo to listen to things on BBC iPlayer radio or Google Music. There is absolutely no crackle on the sound, and I am 100% happy with this product.
Yes, you can get cheaper wires, but my experience is that the sound quality has not been as good with £1 wires, and they can tear or break around the jack area quite easily. This wire is really robust, and will last for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best finish, 27 Jan. 2015

Have used Finish tablets before, and will definitely use them again. They provide a good, clear finish on glasses and cutlery, while some other tablets leave smears or a fogginess. I also like that these tablets don't need unwrapping, meaning you don't have to get your hands dirty/powdery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Upright, hand-held, cordless - three reasons to buy this vacuum, 14 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have had a Dyson upright hoover for a few years and thought I would never find anything better, but I have now been proven wrong.

The two main things that lift this Black and Decker hoover above the competition are:

* It can be both an upright hoover and a hand-held one
* It is cordless

The ability to make the hoover hand-held is really the best thing about it for me. It makes it much easier to hoover sofas, stairs and to get cobwebs out of ceiling corners. The additional head designed to pick up pet hair is also great on sofas (I have a long-haired cat, and it's been picking up all her leftovers up efficiently).

The cordless nature of the vacuum also helps with cleaning stairs (I have a dog-leg staircase, meaning that with my Dyson I had to plug in upstairs to do the top half of the stairs, and downstairs to do the bottom half), and with stretching to get cobwebs off the ceiling. It's also useful for getting into narrow spaces or into gaps behind furniture.

This vacuum is also great at the basics, notably suction power, which I would say matches my three-year old Dyson (whether it would match one of the newer model Dysons, I am not so sure). But still, it is really satisfactory, and keeps hoovering time down to a minimum, which is what everybody wants!!

I see a lot of reviewers have complained about this hoover being a fiddle to fit together, but like with any product it only takes a couple of uses to get used to its particular quirks.

With hoovers, you definitely get what you pay for. £70 will get you something with little suction power. This Black and Decker may cost a lot, but it is an excellent product that I would say is well worth its price tag.

Zanussi Equipt ZANEQ10+ Bagged Cylinder Cleaner, 800 Watt, White/ Blue
Zanussi Equipt ZANEQ10+ Bagged Cylinder Cleaner, 800 Watt, White/ Blue
Price: £72.33

4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight but strong suction, 11 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Like another reviewer, I normally use a Dyson upright, but find it a bit large and heavy to haul upstairs. This Zanussi is really light (4.3kg according to the spec), has a comfortable and well-positioned handle, and I have no problem taking it up and down stairs.
Usefully, the power the vacuum operates at can be varied (I find I need to reduce it when hoovering rugs and curtains). The cord is a very sufficient length for getting round the rooms in my humble two-bed terrace, and the metal tube holding the head can also contract. The different nozzles are cleverly tucked away in the body of the hoover, which means they don't get knocked off while you're hoovering, or lost when you're not.
My only complaint is that, unlike my Dyson, this Zanussi requires bags, which I thought was a thing of the past in this day and age. Still, for the price, there really isn't much to complain about here.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete bilge, 11 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This book is billed less as a self-help book and more as the philosophy of a cancer (and other ailment) survivor on how to approach life.
What it actually is, is a series of trite observations, told by someone who sounds like a twelve-year-old. The evidence of this is plastered over the back cover, where in mock-handwriting is scrawled: "Trust your dreams and they'll come true."
The author, Albert Espinosa, talks about his "yellow world". What in fact he lives in is a black and white world, where you get all the black and whites at the same time. For example, chapter one is called, "Losses are positive", where he reveals to us that mourning is useful as a process for getting used to loss, and that having something bad happens to you can make you stronger, if you let it, by living in the yellow world. Basically, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going, and all their dreams come true."
Yes, Albert has had some bad experiences, but he should realise that lots of other people who have cancer do not recover from it, because cancer is not some kind of joke that can be dreamed away if you dream hard enough.
Vapid, bland, hackneyed, boring, self-congratulating, and a waste of time. Do not bother with this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommend over Philips and Verbatim, 4 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This seems pretty standard as far as energy-saving bulbs go. I've also tried the Philips 5W (50W) GU10 Master LED Value Spot Light, 2700K Warm White, Dimmable and the Verbatim 52608 GU10 5 Watt Light Bulb. Not much to pick between them in terms of light quality. They all cannot be dimmed, they all light up quickly (unlike old energy-saving bulbs) and they all provide a very similar, soft white light.
I criticised the Verbatim bulb in my review of it for its excessive packaging. There is no such problem with this Luceco bulb, which is just about more conservative than the Philips. However, if the Philips does look slightly classier as a bulb, so if your bulbs are easily visible or are in a swanky bathroom, you may wish to opt for the Philips. Still, nothing wrong at all with this Luceco bulb, which is about a third cheaper than the Philips (at the time of writing), which would maybe push my towards the Luceco for future purchases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a cross word to say about this book, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Previously had a few of the standard-size Times 2 crossword books, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The puzzles in this book each have about 50-60 clues, and the difficulty level definitely reflects that of the crosswords in the daily paper (something that cannot be said for some of the Guardian's G2 books).
One good improvement over the smaller Times 2 books is that the answers in this book are written in a list, rather than displayed in the crossword format. This means that if you want to check one answer, you're less likely to accidentally see any of the other answers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reassurance for those who drive a lot, 4 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is one of those items you'd buy hoping you're never really going to need it. But in the case of an accident, whether you're involved in it or just a witness, it could make a huge difference. I travel long distances for work, so for me it is a no-brainer having one of these.
The camera is very simple to set up and install, attaching to the window via a suction cup, which also makes it easy to put away when you park up. The device isn't quite as discreet as I'd been led to believe by the Amazon description (it is not nearly invisible when you use it, but it also isn't too intrusive). It would also be nice if the product came with some kind of case to help you store and protect it in the glove box.
You have to buy a memory card to fit into the camera, but when recording it automatically overwrites old footage with new footage once the card becomes full, so you don't need to worry about buying several memory cards or messing around resetting the device.
I've found the image quality to be excellent in daylight, and very acceptable in darkness or during adverse weather, and can recommend this product to anyone looking for a dash camera.
