4.0 out of 5 stars A fan of the blog? Try the book!, 12 Nov. 2013
This review is from: Must Kill TV (Kindle Edition)
Being a big fan of Ken Levine's blog, I thought I'd give his first novel a try and I was not disappointed! A very funny thriller, satirising network television and full of great pop culture references.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not proper answers!, 17 Dec. 2012
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

Buy a proper Magic 8 Ball, rather than this knock-off. The answers aren't the ones listed (e.g. A Definite Yes, I Have My Doubts, You Will Have To Wait) - they're more like fortune cookie slips.

Bought for a Secret Santa present and I'm glad it's anonymous!

3.0 out of 5 stars Careful - bonus disc is always Blu-Ray!, 30 Oct. 2010
This "Diamond edition" contains 3 discs - one DVD copy of the film, one Blu-Ray of the film and one Blu-Ray bonus disc. Don't make the same mistake as me - this applies no matter which packaging you choose! I assumed that the DVD packaging would mean I got 2 DVDs and only a copy of the film on Blu-Ray.

The proper DVD copy will be released on 29 November and is available for pre-order. Unfortunately, thanks to this bizarre Blu-Ray confusion, I now have to return several copies of this version, as I bought for my family too :(

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it now, 25 Feb. 2006

Don't go near an I-Pod. What's the point when this amazing product is on the market?
The only thing against it (which is actually a problem with many MP3 players) is that it doesn't like licensed songs downloaded from the internet as much as ones taken straight off your own CDs.
However, as long as you don't shut down the player while playing one of these songs (mine can't cope with starting it up again and freezes) you'll be fine. Even then, press the play button and insert a paper clip into the reset button (on the side beside the Random button) and select Clean Up from the recovery menu. Fixed!

5.0 out of 5 stars More Classic Henson Magic!, 7 May 2004
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a wonderful 'childrens' series featuring John Hurt and his dog companion telling folktales by the fire.
Each episode has a full range of Henson Creature Shop creations and characters played by famous names (including French and Saunders, Brenda Blethyn, Jane Horrocks, Sean Bean and Alun Armstrong).
This DVD is the second five episodes of the series and includes my personal favourite 'Sapsorrow'. This a Cinderella-like story but much darker (she is being forced to marry her own father) and with possibly the most gorgeous costumes ever (the blue sparkly dress, swoon...) and French and Saunders in great warty, ugly make-up as her sisters.
If you like beautiful and scary stories, especially if you are a fan of Labyrinth or the Dark Cyrstal, you'll love this!
Enjoy!

I can't wait for the second volume to come out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Woo-hoo! Harry Potter comes to life addictively!, 23 Nov. 2001
Well, this game is brillant. That's all I can say!
It sticks within the confines of the book but brings new and exciting things to do as well. I love the fact that you don't actually die (after all, it's for kids and Harry is "the boy who lived"!) as, once the levels get harder, you can keep repeating them until you can complete them!
My only problem with this game was that it is so damn addictive and I actually have things to be getting on with!

5.0 out of 5 stars Knackering but worth it, 2 Aug. 2001

I haven't done ballet for 3 years but this video is getting me flexible and toned again. However, I don't think you could do it if you had never danced before as the simple moves and even just how you are meant to hold yourself are not explained so novices will not be getting the best out of it. Don't get put off when the dancers start stretching their legs beyond human capacity - don't force it yourself: one thing the video only states once, rather dangerously. I would recommend alternating between this video and some plain cardiovascular exercise (I go jogging). If you have done a bit of ballet, even if many years ago, this is the video for you. Give it a go and you'll feel a difference sooner than you think, trust me!
