Bad Science
Bad Science
by Ben Goldacre
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.29

3.0 out of 5 stars Partly interesting, 14 Aug. 2011
This review is from: Bad Science (Paperback)
The strong side of this book is the way it discusses the "PLACEBO EFFECT" and who it describes the media hype surrounding vaccine and multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). That is the really interesting part of the book. But to understand the book completely you would have to be living in England, since there are many references to TV shows and media in England, and for a person like me living outside of UK, this is not so interesting, and at times boring. The author also seem to have a grudge against certain people and these chapters lack the clam analytical approach that one would expect from a scientist.

If you live in England and are interested in the science of medical treatment, this is the book for you. If you are interested in popular science in general there are many other books to choose from.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange but good, 26 Jun. 2011

It is an easy and entertaining book, that is easily read in a weekend. But the novels stay with you for a long time. They are disturbing and dark, and give you an sense of despair that stay with you.
