5.0 out of 5 stars The Stones themselves couldn't have done any better., 13 Jun. 2009
This review is from: Teenage Head (Audio CD)
Teenage head is a true classic of early 70s American style rock'n'roll. Great rockers, nice southern ballads, incursions into rockabilly... A superb, well-balanced R&R album with a rootsy, simple production that allows the power of the band to speak for itself. It could easily pass for a lost golden-era Stones album. In fact, i wouldn't rate it too much below Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed or Sticky Fingers. The bonus tracks are also a treat: raw, gutsy, no-overdubs R'N'R covers in a sheer garage band vein. 70s Rock and Roll doesn't get much better than this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Delusive title: Earl's court DVD but not Earl's Court CDs, 30 Jan. 2009
Watch out you Floyd freaks like me!. What you will find here is a so-so quality copy of the Earl's Court Wall show voio which adds nothing to other releases that many of you may already have. BUT the audio CDs are NO EARL'S COURT ROIO, but a mere copy of the studio official release. The package is nice, so it's a good option if you don't own the stuff already. If, like me, you have the voio and are looking for the roio and/or a definitive Earl's Court 80 memorabilia, avoid.

3.0 out of 5 stars A disappointing edition, 29 July 2006
This review is from: Camel Footage II [DVD] (DVD)
Being a big fan of Camel, i won't discuss the quality of the performances in here, which is very high. Two objections, anyway: 1) I don't like the whole "Camel footage" concept, consisting in distributing a selection of footage from various (much the same) gigs among different dvds; i'd much prefer buying whole concerts, e.g. Hammersmith 1976 or Hippodrome 1977. Whether or not this formula is more profitable to Mr. Latimer, it's not for me to say.

2) I was very disappointed to find out that the final guitar solo in White Rider -my favourite Camel piece, btw- has been badly edited. Why so?. I happen to have a bootleg uncut source in much worse image quality.

So, once more, official releases do not deliver the goods. Thumbs down to Andy Latimer as a producer. I'll keep waiting for a complete official edition of the show. Meanwhile, we'll have to keep to bootleggers.
