3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but a bit dodgy, 4 Nov. 2009
Got this pretty quickly but in a plastic bag not in box , obviously some cheapo Chinese knock off BUT .... it does the job and sounds good connected to an amp , also ipod nano fits snugly with no need for an adaptor. Not bad.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good idea , rubbish book, 29 Oct. 2009
This review is from: London Orbital (Paperback)
This looked great in the bookshop but after the 1st few pages I knew it was going to be a difficult journey (excuse the pun). Sniping remarks about Thatcher and Blair straight out of the 6th form didn`t help.Once his "yawn" whacky mates (Drummond etc) turned up it went even further downhill. Did he really set fire to a million "quid" ? Probably not . I`m sure there must be a point to this book but maybe I`m too thick and too not-from-London to appreciate it. He could have written the same waffle about the M42 (Brum orbital) its just as depressing. It gets 2 stars for effort only.

5.0 out of 5 stars A forgotten classic, 2 July 2009
This a great album , try not to think "Joy Division" when listening to it and enjoy it for what it is. Standouts - The Him, Truth, Chosen Time (almost a happy song !) and of course Dreams Never End. In my opinion their 2nd best after PCandL , the singles and B sides from this time are also excellent - Procession , ETGG , Mesh , Hurt etc sound wonderful still. Why moan about the sequencing when its a pretty simple to play the tracks in any order you wish ?

5.0 out of 5 stars Very watchable, 24 May 2009
This review is from: Joy Division [DVD] (DVD)
Good points:
Peter Saville - very amusing bloke.
Annik - touching and honest.
Steve Morris - also funny.
You get a real feel of how crap mid seventies Britain was.

to be honest the rest of it is pretty good too.

Bad point:
More pretentious twaddle from Paul Morley.

5.0 out of 5 stars An intriguing read, 24 May 2009
This is a fascinating book that really makes you think about the nature of space and time without getting bogged down in too much mathematics. A great introduction to the topic.

5.0 out of 5 stars New order at their best, 24 May 2009
This is New Order at their peak in my opinion. "Movement" was pretty good despite the negative reviews and this built on the electronic elements found in that release. Lots of great melodies and memorable basslines as well as some funny and touching lyrics. After this they went downhill producing some dreadful albums and singles that sound very dated now. Barneys singing and lyrics just got worse and worse to the point of becoming painfull to listen too. Anyway enjoy this and the early singles up to "Thieves Like Us" and avoid the horrible turgid dance/rock monstrosity that they became.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, 24 May 2009
I bought one of these and plugged my microwave and kettle into it , since then the food has tasted so much better and the water boils in a more pleasing manner than before.

1.0 out of 5 stars not funny, 12 Aug. 2008
did you ever read Viz in the late 80`s early 90`s ? Remmember "Student Grant" well this geezer reminds me of one of Grants dopey mates , the only difference being that Viz was funny.
