4.0 out of 5 stars Quite good for the money, 18 Aug. 2013

For the price I paid for it, it's actually a pretty good ice cream machine. The bowl is a bit small - shoot for about 700 ml of ice cream mixture (pre-frozen) and it will do OK (this also means that it's easier to fit the bowl in the freezer). It's also slightly underpowered - if you overfill the machine or if the mixture is too runny, you risk jamming it. This being said, it does produce quite good ice cream, taking around 5-18 minutes, depending on the type and quantity of ice cream you're making. I do a lot of super quick sorbet, by simply throwing some fruit (like melon) with just a bit of water, sugar and lemon juice into a blender (enough to make about 500 ml of liquid) and throwing it into the machine (the machine must always be running before you start pouring the mixture in), 5 minutes of churning and you're done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes really good coffee, 25 Feb. 2013

There is nothing I can add that hasn't been said in the other review, so I'll just say this makes really good coffee. I basically stopped using my drip coffee maker since I got this (and a Porlex hand grinder, freshly grind coffee really does make a huge difference).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent build quality, 25 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Been using it since the day it arrived, a couple of times a day, and it really is built like a tank. It's all stainless steel, grinds quite evenly, and spare parts are easy to buy. Very recommended.

Edit: After about six months of daily use, it is still as good as the day it arrived. The only maintenance I do is cleaning it once a week, by removing all the ceramic parts, scrubbing them in a bit of warm water and soap (be careful not to drop anything - the ceramic burrs may shatter) and letting them dry. Perfect companion for my Aeropress (Aerobie AeroPress Coffee Maker).

Edit 2: I have now been using it daily for 19 months, and it is still going strong. The burr is getting a bit worn (much less than I expected it to be by now though), but still working perfectly. All the other parts are as good as the day the arrived. Truly impressive!
