5.0 out of 5 stars KJV anniversary, 16 May 2011
An excellent review of the King James' Bible in the 400th anniversary year by one of the leading biblical scholars of the day. It deals with the history of the 1611 translation with detailed references to the preceding versions and other texts extant at the time. He also goes on to review the history of the Bible up to today's Cambridge Paragraph Bible for which he was largely resposible. An excellent scholarly work dealing with the subject in a manner which should appeal to many laymen.
