First, the item arrived quickly, so no problem with service and value.
The product itself is rigid plastic, with a camera tripod attachment of plastic with a small metal threaded socket insert. Would I trust a weighty/expensive body/lens combo of less than 10Kg!!!! No, I would be wary about 3Kg. The belt loops again are rigid, which means the whole hanger will not fit snugly to your side. Having said all that, my reason to buy is to anchor my cameras to my side whilst on a shoulder harness, and moving between locations or crowds. On that basis, they will prove cost effective and last a 'season' or two. If one fails, then the harness is my main support. I selected this type over other belt clip systems, on the basis of the lens hanging vertically and not slung at an angle where the front element or rear screen may be more vulnerable to knocks. As yet all this is subjective as they have not been truly put to the test yet, that is about to come, but these are the basis of my selection and views when delivered. 4 star on cost, delivery, and with luck, usable service.

5.0 out of 5 stars adapt and survive, 25 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This adapter gets full marks for me. I know there are limitations with these low cost adapters, that's why they are low cost!
When you start using them, going back to basic photographic skills and recalling interrelationships between aperture, time and sensitivity (iso) they become a pleasure to use. No more hit miss auto settings dictated by the cameras view on the scene, and a whole world of quality old lens to dust off, or seek out. (the downside, is the rising value of these lumps of glass) This particular Fotga unit seems a better quality manufacture, with good solid locking and release mechanism. A bit of delay in coming from Germany, but only a few days. Definitely a good choice, no fit problems, no play, and better than many. Already in use on aging lens, but plenty still out their with this mount. Get back to basics, learn your craft, and your camera, and it will serve well.

2.0 out of 5 stars a Paloma imperfection, 20 Mar. 2014
This review is from: A Perfect Contradiction (Audio CD)
I have seen and heard Paloma Faith from her early days of dark cellar bars and first radio plays. I have loved the raw energy she portrayed, her fantastic voice, original music and her colourful stage presence. How could I not have been drawn in by a powerful single, wonderful (typical) romanticised artwork, and again, the radio and video coverage of live performances. However, I can honestly say, for me, the album is a total disappointment. Overproduction and electro beats are not what Paloma Faith needs, she already has the qualities mentioned by the bucket load. The opening track is powerful, but overpowered by the excessive booming beat. Followed quickly by 10 manufactured tracks, that I can't help feeling, do not do Paloma justice at all. BUT not all is lost, because the best is yet to come, found in the extra bonus tracks, a 'kitchen' version of 'Can't Rely On You', is superb, followed up with, 'Trouble With My Baby', Only Love Can Hurt Like This' and the final track gratefully received, 'Its Not The Knowing'. This is the album for me, the rest will never get played at home, no doubt they will be aired on radio and in the clubs. It will not stop me looking out for Paloma in the future, its would be hard to believe you can produce consistent top albums on a production line. Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful? Truth is, the final 4 tracks would have made a great EP, the rest, personally, should have been left in the studio, I await future developments with interest. Paloma, you are better than this. it receives 2 stars, those are purely for the 'extras'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Standing proud, 29 Jan. 2014

Brilliantly useful and 'flexible' stand. 3 robust legs guarantee stability, height and pitch are fully adjustable to suit. Bought to make long cuts with table saw more stable and accurate, but also serves to support when used with a work bench, indeed anything where material length is an issue. Additionally I was able to clamp short lengths of 50mm x 75mm timber within the 'trough' enabling use of planer to size down the material. My only criticism, is that the paint was chipped on arrival on a couple of edges, I like to think i keep my tools and equipment in pristine condition, realistically, it does not detract from an excellent solid design.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutting Edge, 29 Jan. 2014

A good solid cable knife made by one of the leading manufacturers of insulated tools. The handle is comfortably to suit most adults grip, additional insulation along the spine of the blade is added reassurance for live working, though could be a hindrance for some uses. The knife is available with or without that protector. Knipex is a first class company to deal with, I had a problem with the knife following delivery (the dog took a liking to the insulated grip& helped himself!) Knipex responded well, though obviously not covered by warranty, they replaced my new but depleted cable knife, and sent the dog a bone to keep him out of mischief. Knipex remain the first choice for me and preferred flavour for the hound!

This UV filter is pretty well first choice to fit to any lens as a protector for the front element as well as UV.
The Onov8 claims to be multicoated, is certainly a slim fit (desirable on some lens to limit possible vignetting with hood attached etc) and seems good quality. All this in a well priced package. I would use this type again (and probably will)

good quality hood of metal construction at a very good price. I happen to like metal (or good rigid plastic) hoods, over the more common rubber hood. Yes the rubber hood gives a resilient surround to your front of lens, but they are bulky and ascetically ugly beasts. Rigid hoods have a limited scope for a given depth, but are neater and often lighter than there multi purpose rubber cousins. This particular hood does exactly the task required, fitted on a short to medium zoom 28-105mm, I have had no vignetting problems, or lens glare from the telephoto end. Its good quality, fits well and is compact enough to fit in my camera case with the DSLR being used. A good buy for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basic adaptor for Nex, 28 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Inexpensive M42 adaptor for a Sony Nex cameras, opens up the world of old lens sat gathering dust (not good) in your attic. Some of these old primes are very good optics, though coatings may not be up to todays standards. Watch out for blemishes like scratches, excessive dust and fungus; otherwise give them a try. If you are buying in to the M42 fit, beware prices of lens are creeping up for anything decent. The Adaptor itself is pretty basic, you will have no aperture control or auto focus, so back to manual settings, but construction appears robust and it all aligns ok, at a very affordable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars magnifying performer, 18 July 2012
I would add my endorsement to other reviews. The lens is an able performer, producing punchy results. Not a long range zoom nor particularly fast, it stays comfortably within its scope and works very effectively. Don't be put off by its plastic construction, giving a light weight, but reasonably robust lens; it has made for an affordable and effective lens. I have used mine on the front end of a Sony Nex, via an adapter for the mount and am grateful for the moderate weight attached to such a small body, I've also been very pleased with the results. Considering buying a Canon fit for my DSLR.
Two criticisms which remove that fifth star; front element rotates so not so good with polarising filters, and when using manual focusing (which I do when mounted on the NEX) the focus ring at front is minimal, though you can gently use the hood because it too rotates when using the lens.
Previous criticisms with respect to shake are puzzling, it is not image stabilized and would be incredible at this price point if it was; get a grip. The moderate F4-5.6 aperture is also what you expect to compromise at this level, I up my ISO to help with lower light. I have been using this to take natural light pictures in dingy venues hosting local bands. They do not stand still, turn up the lights and pose!
