Not for the faint hearted!, 17 Dec 2013
A fantastic book that had me gripped to the end, I couldn't put it down. If you are interested in this genre then it is a must. It often made me cry as the author detailed the brutal treatment they received in the POW camp at the hands of the SS and that received by innocent civilians as the war came to an end. The prisoners' genius, strength and adaptability kept them alive for all those years. If you are easily offended or upset then think about what it is you are reading about before you read it. Let's face it, it isn't going to be a fairy story is it?! Graphic descriptions of violence and sex and lots of swearing, you have been warned!
