5.0 out of 5 stars what model of raleigh bike does albert finnie ride in the film?, 4 Mar 2010
I have seen this film several times on tv and also got it on dvd as a freebie with a newspaper
the picture quality on the newspaper issue is a bit grainy and it isnt chaptered which means you have to watch it right through or fast fwd it to the bit in the film you left it at
as for the film i like it because of the scenes in the raleigh factory in the early sixties apparently albert finnie did operate the lathe in the film(its bottom bracket axles hes working on)
I have never however been able to establish what model of raleigh racer albert finnie rides in the film despite several attempts with zoom to try and see the transfers on the bike when he lifts it up after unchaining it when going to work.
The reason for this is that i collect classic bicycles and would like to have the same model of bike arthur seaton rode in the film saturday night and sunday morning in my bike collection
Anyone know if the disc amazon sells has any extras such as audio commentry or original trailer?

5.0 out of 5 stars callan the movie, 2 Mar 2010
I can remember the callan tv series and the famous swinging lightbulb but have always preferred the cinema
film version
I havent seen it for some years now the only things i can recall are
callan strengthening his hand using a basin of wet sand which he punches, the scrap yard in an old school which is actually the organisations hq, the car chase with callan in the range rover with blacked out windows which he drove through a greenhouse apparently this was a one off take as the owner of the greenhouse was going to demolish it and the film company asked if they could use it in the film by driving a car through it
i will certainly consider buying a copy of this film shortly

5.0 out of 5 stars both versions of scum on dvd, 25 Feb 2010
i saw scum when it was first released as a film at the cinema in 1979 and watched and taped it when it was shown on c4 many years later albeit edited
the BBC decided a number of years ago to show the original in a late night slot which i also taped unluckily the tape got chewed by my vcr and the bbc has never shown the film since
I also managed to get a copy of scum uncut version with the original trailer and alan clarke interview as extras for 50p in a local charity shop the pic and sound quality is good mainly because i dont think it had been played much by the person who donated it to the charity shop.
I will most definately be buying the two disc set of scum the only thing is that the original and cinema version more or less mirror each other i also prefer mick ford as archer in the cinema version as he is a more convincing character

5.0 out of 5 stars behind the sun dvd, 20 Feb 2010
I saw eric clapton live at the Edinburgh Playhouse feb 28 1986 which was an extra night and it was a fantastic concert
clapton gave his two backing vocalists shaun murphy and marci levi solo numbers marci levi did something is wrong with my baby and shaun murphy did steppin out and am surprised these arent included in the dvd as the songs arent listed
if anyone has the dvd and can verify whether they are given solo numbers i would very much appreciate it
at the end of the edinburgh concert he got a standing ovation from the 3000 strong audience and came back on and did knock on wood
it was going to this concert that made me into a clapton fan
as they said in the sixties clapton is god
and in my mind he definately is
anyone know if shaun murphy or marcy levi released any albums and the titles of them as i havent been able to track them down
