4.0 out of 5 stars Makes the Brennan redundant., 18 Nov 2011
Imagine having the worlds best jukebox at the end of a remote control,Over the years i've spent thousands on stuff to record and play music. This thing does it all.I now have 24000 songs stored on it and still there is 700GB left.I bought the x10 to replace a Brennan jb7 that kept going wrong and I'm glad i did.The x10 makes the Brennan seem prehistoric! There are regular firmware updates and they seem to encourage suggestions for new features to add.The wireless internet radio is fantastic,i haven't listened to any of my own music for a couple of weeks! And it records it too (not BBC stations)Having owned both the Brennan and the X10 I can thoroughly recommend the x10.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't believe the hype., 9 Sep 2011
This review is from: JB7 320G Metallic S1 (Electronics)
Brennan b7.Don't throw the box/packaging away. This machine is a great idea with major flaws. The power pack died after 2 days but i was sent another the next day.A few days later the unit stopped working completely,it was collected and i didn't see it for2 weeks.I wanted the unit to record 3 hour radio programmes, but the longest it will record for is 99 minutes. The worst "feature" is the way it stores albums in the order they were loaded and not alphabetically making searching for an album virtually impossible.Another bad point for me is the way it transfers albums (takes 15/20 minutes)to an MP3 player. It doesn't transfer the track numbers so the album plays alphabetically, not in the order it was intended to be heard. There are no "proper" rca connectors to hook it up to your hifi, just 3.5mm jack sockets. Also the speaker terminals are too small to accept good quality (thick) cables.Given the price of this thing (480 for the 500gb)I'm guessing it's aimed at the older music lover, which brings me to my last gripe. The remote is far to small. To be honest i was glad when the thing broke down for a third time so i could send it back and get a refund.Overall a very disappointing product given the price point.I'm now going to buy one of these.COCKTAIL AUDIO X10 WITH 1 TB HDD MEMORY 15000 CD CAPACITYIt has more memory, internet radio, stores albums logically and costs less.
