5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic, 8 Mar 2004
absolutely fantastic machine - bye bye traditional mixer. have used this machine for just about everything so far, from pureeing my five month old's baby food, to making cakes and other culinary delights. Brilliant machine - well worth its weight in gold and a god send to a busy working mum of three.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and interesting, 4 Mar 2004
This is an excellent read if you are interested in any aspect of medicine in the 17th and 18th centuries. Essentially it covers the profession of midwifery and is centred around the memoirs of a Frisian midwife. However, despite it not being connected to British history it does give a valuable insight into the practice of midwifery, the attitudes of society towards medicine at this particular time and the treatment of women in the medical profession. Well worth a read.

Really pleased with this cookery book - no arty recipes just good simple food, which will appeal to everyone. Classic British dishes alongside some newer ones, which are certain to become classics in their own right. Really like the way Gary introduces each recipe with extra information and also gives alternatives and helpful hints. Will be using this book for a long time to come and have rediscovered why I liked cooking in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gary Rhodes - New British Classics, 24 Feb 2004
This review is from: New British Classics (Paperback)
Fantastic Book full of wonderful recipes (have been trying them out on the unsuspecting family with very favourable results). Nice touch with the addtional information on each recipe, its origin and alternatives that will work just as well. Better buy two copies as one is certain to get well used and like mine covered in flour etc.

being a busy mum of three and shortly returning to work after having my third child, it is smashing to find a cookery book that actually takes all this into account, coupled with the fact that the majority of us do not have access to the weird and wonderful ngredients used by so many chefs today - stuff you buy and then never use again. Thank you Gary Rhodes, for simple quick recipes that mean my family eat well and can enjoy their food.
