5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for all the family!, 5 July 2016

I played this over the weekend with my 8 and 12 year old children who were hooked on it so much that the 8 year old asked to play it again and the 12 year old was really excited about it, even left the laptop to come and play. If you have a 12 year old you know how big a thing that is.

Getting into the return on investment idea, paying off loans to reduce your monthly liabilities, the hit that buying "immediate gratification" type purchases make on your long term wealth is so much easier in this game, it makes it so more real than just talking about it.

Pity my son beat me both times, by a huge margin, but then he did buy OK4U at $5, go through a stock split, sell at $40 and then do it almost straight after with GRO4US. Not fair, 100x gain when I had to spend $7500 on something useless.

Great game, and if your good at explaining stuff as you're playing the game even an eight year old can grasp it.

5.0 out of 5 stars As flexible as the photos suggest, and great quality too., 31 May 2015

With items like this you are often purchasing at risk, never quite knowing what is going to turn up. When this laptop stand turned up I was surprised, in a good way, at how well it performed the job and how flexible it was in terms of laptop placement. This is one of those times when taking a punt has paid off.

Seeking out the grit in our lives which cause a rift between us and God is high up on the agenda in this book, the important focus is a right relationship with the father and seeking him rather than his gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the business, 4 Oct. 2013

I use this as a way of keeping people out of the kitchen in our church rooms, they had a tendency to wander in and make tea using the kettle which when we are moving around with hot dishes from the oven isn't always safe.

So fill this up and put it on a table in the function room means problem solved.

This flask is glass and does say that it is intended for table top use, in this it has a swivel base which turns really easily, the lever action gives a good mug full on each push and is easy to control.

I will trust other review for how long it stays hot, after a couple of hours it's still hot enough that we use the remaining water in the washing up bowl and it is steaming lots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raspberry Pi with Raspian "wheezy" works well, 7 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I plugged this into my Raspberry Pi with the current image of Raspian "Wheezy" (2013-05-25-wheezy-raspbian)

The start up messages found it as an 802.11n WLAN Adapter by Realtek.

Started X and then the WiFi Config tool and connected it through WPA2 to my BT HomeHub2

Found the router across about 50 feet and through three brick walls.

Tiny little thing, but packs a punch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stories from around the corner...., 28 May 2012
The stories told in this book are not set in some far away land or distant time but are real and relevant for British Christians in today's cultural environment.

It's about allowing young people to be young people, not just younger looking adults. It's about giving them space to do what it is they need to do to find both God and themselves, and our need to accept them and affirm them in a time when they are looking for any form of acceptance and significance.

5.0 out of 5 stars REV ED is worth buying even if you have the first edition, 15 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The revised edition (1st Nov 2011) is a completely different book to the first edition, if you thought the first was good then you do need to get the new one.

It has calmed down a bit, Dave has been listening to men and women as he does his tours and the feedback from churches that have been putting into practice the ideas in the first edition and written about them in this edition. As he says, he puts lots into the first book, it's a bit crammed in at times, but then he didn't know if he was going to get to do a second.

Well, the first edition sold huge amounts, and this revised edition is so much better and it should do the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Live you life loving Jesus rather than trying to control him., 26 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very simple book, it has a simple message, it is written in a simple way. Even the diagrams in the book are simple, easy to draw on a napkin or white board.

But that doesn't means that the message is not strong, powerful and hugely important.

As the back cover puts it "Stop living your life UNDER, OVER, FROM, and FOR God and start living in communion WITH him".

After introducing the five positions that we relate to God, Skye details each of the four ways in which we try to control God, to bend him to our will. After showing these false positions he moves on to the true way, that is the way of love. He gets there through living with God, with Faith, and with Hope.

As Skye would place as the main thing to remember is that as Paul wrote to the Corinthians "faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love" that faith and hope become meaningless when you come face to face with that which you have faith and hope in.

If when you meet Jesus after your mortal body expires you are stripped of your faith and hope, because that which you have faith and hope in is now realised, what remains? Love. And if you have not love then will Jesus be able to recognise you or are you going to end up in the position were he says that he does not know you?

At the end of the book is a series of discussion questions (titled Discuss WITH others). Don't skip these, make sure you discuss these with someone else. Me, well, first read through I discussed them with Jesus. Its a great way to kick start your relationship living your life WITH him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just read it yet again, 15 Sept. 2011

I'm finding that each time I read this, and I've just finished it for the third time, that there is so much I missed out the previous time.

I'll read a few other things and then I'll go back to this again and fully expect to read it from a totally different angle and gain lots more insight.

5.0 out of 5 stars A clear voice in the confusion of my mind, 6 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Many people looking at this book will be in the early stages of working out if the nagging, persistent voice in their head is the calling of God into ordained ministry of some kind. John clearly lays out in this book the priests duty to God, the World and the Church.

He goes from describing his efforts in putting the bins out on a wet November evening to being concerned about the state of the church (that is the people who are the church) and their abilities to be in a constant evangelical state and have the knowledge and ability to defend and commend the faith through word and deed.
