4.0 out of 5 stars First strimmer faulty, but quickly replaced and new one works like a dream, 18 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My first strimmer packed up after only about 40 minutes and then wouldn't start again. MK-Trading were quick to respond to my complaint, arranging courier to pick up the faulty strimmer and supplying me with a new one the following week. This one sounded much better from the off and - touch wood - has worked like a dream ever since. Very impressed with MK-Trading's customer service. Overall, very good value for money, particularly considering all the kit you get with it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible!, 10 May 2013

This guy is no author but has simply plucked bits from other books and put it together with his very basic narrative. Don't bother reading even if it is free!

4.0 out of 5 stars Gruesome but a story that needs telling, 11 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Victor Griggs short story highlights the barbaric and completely unnecessary bombing carried out by the British during the war. Honestly told in the simple language of a Tommy that was there when it happened.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read though not that historically probing, 28 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An interesting and humerous personal perspective of being born in Germany and moving to England as a teenager with all the cultural differences that entailed. Some fairly random cultural comparisons particularly entertaining if you're a football fan (not that I am). Entertaining nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, but maybe a bit too much background?, 20 Jan 2012
This review is from: Portmeirion Pottery (Hardcover)
A great book for the Portmeirion collector and very comprehensive. Good selection of high quality colour and black and white photos of the different designs. Only very slight criticism might be the irrelevance of some of the first chapter going into such detail about the life of Susan William-Ellis, but a minor detail in what is otherwise an excellent book.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK start for the beginner with some useful tips though a lot of self-promotion, 27 Feb 2011
Nicely laid out in an A-Z format, so easy to dip into and simple short explanations on each topic. Although very much a beginner's guide (and quite light on substance in some places) I still came away with some useful snippets of new information and weblinks that I've since made use of. Having said that, some info seemed a bit out of date, such as reference to the Guardian Media Directory on Amazon - last edition being 2007. There was also quite a lot of self-promotion of her own business and the all-female clients she seems to work with, used as case studies, which I found a bit annoying. Still, not a bad book for the price if you have no prior knowledge of PR techniques.
