5.0 out of 5 stars Is the best still to come?, 5 Feb 2014
This series just keeps getting better- it's a quick read, but the plot is complex with some real heft to it. Clearly, Bill Todd did some meticulously thorough research and, as usual, his observation of people and places is sharp, but never sour.
Rock Hard is an unfaillingly gripping thriller that screeches to a halt rather than a conclusion - and leaves us wondering when and where Danny will surface next.

More an essay than a book and overall, information on what oil treats which condition is, sadly, thin. I feel short-changed

It doesn't tell a great deal that's new; it's short and light in every sense, but it's great as a source of quick and easy reminders of how to manage weight

4.0 out of 5 stars An exceptional book, 10 July 2013

The emotional and intellectual responses to imminent death that Philip Gould describes so clearly are probably not at all uncommon, but his unsparing catalogue of events as he confronts his terminal illness is remarkable. It is a lucid and, ultimately, positive record. Highly recommend

4.0 out of 5 stars Shock of the ancient, 13 Oct 2012
This is a book brimming with historical insight and interest which also succeeds as a fast paced adventure story. It's well structured, well written and even the editing, so often poor these days, is better than average. Thank you Mr Blake.
