5.0 out of 5 stars As good as gets. Live, 17 Jun 2012
In it's day, this was the album to have. The band were bigger than U2 and at their peak in 87.
14 tracks and not a poor one to be heard.
There are 5 tracks from the massive once upon a time album and the highlight is oh jungleland fading into the superb alive and kicking. The backing vocals are amazing, the band are on top form, it was and still is the best live album I own.

5.0 out of 5 stars in a class of it's own, 26 Aug 2007
This review is from: I Sing All Kinds (Audio CD)
at last some more stuff from the nashville sessions in '71. this mixture of ballads, gospel and a bit of xmas is surprisingly up there with ftd's finest.the much forgotten "it's only love" is a great take, along with a powerful "love the life i lead" are the highlights. there is also a slower "home on christmas day" which captures the man's voice in all it's glory. there is an outing for "early morning rain" which has got my attention and what better way to kick off an album than which bosom of abraham. "wellll you rocka ma soul".tcb

4.0 out of 5 stars better than some of the others, 24 May 2007
This review is from: An American Trilogy (Audio CD)
trilogy has elvis in good vocal form and the sound quality is better than a few of the soundboard recordings fron ftd. the bonus tracks are slightly disappointing, but on the main list i dont think you can ever go wrong with the proud mary and never been to spain combo which was a feature in 72 and is also on the afternoon in the garden, highlight is probably little sister and big hunk is a winner as per and you can see where he the playlist starts to change to the aloha concert. brilliant no but i'm not disappointed in the cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars worth it for the cover, 5 Nov 2005
This review is from: Summer Festival (Audio CD)
summer festival is on a par with the previous soundboard recordings from the ftd label with the sound quality slightly taking your mind away from the line up of can see the set list changing from the 70-71 line ups and gradually forming into the aloha format with fever, what now my love appearing.the summer festival has the complete dinner show from aug 11th plus a couple of tracks from the midnight show thrown in. as well as 5 tracks from the midnight show from aug 12th where the never been to spain is one for the books but the proud mary is a let down with jd sumner being too powerful on the chorus.i compare this cd to an afternoon in the garden as it were a few months earlier in 1972 but not a patch on the garden none the less worth buying for the cover and collection.
