Stowamatic STOW A WAY Folding Golf Trolley
Stowamatic STOW A WAY Folding Golf Trolley
Price: 36.12

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent lightweight trolley, 15 Mar 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great lightweight, solid and well-constructed trolley and folds down small enough to go on the front seat of a Mazda MX5 convertible. Easy and quick to put up and down.

Feels very solid when on the course and easy to pull around the course. Certainly recommended and very good value for money

4.0 out of 5 stars Parents can take back control, 29 Feb 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Basis for changing routers was my previous Netgear only block sites, The BT one I tried only allowed time restrictions, I needed to be able to block the kids internet access by website and time.
Opened the box of the X3000 nice looking box with decent quality cables and ADSL splitter.

Only thing I thought was missing was both my previous routers could stand up on their own so it allowed me to hide the cables. The X300 cannot do this and even if wall mounted would not hide the nasty spaghetti.

Plugged in the router rebooted my PC to pick up the new address and installed the CISCO set-up software.
Followed the on screen instructions completing the DSL connection information etc. from the screen print I had before I changed the router. It failed to connect the first time and tried again with the same settings and second time it went through OK to the end of the set-up all be it very slowly.
One this through it connected to the internet at a slightly higher speed than the previous modem.

I then went on to go through all the set-up menus to set the name of the wireless network and the password back to my previous routers set-up so no user changes required.

Went on further to follow the set-up for the kids pc access. Once all the kids pcs were connected they are easy to manage. Go to the settings page and the access policy tab, enable it and add the pc's you want to manage from the drop down list then set the access times. It has the added bonus of different times for weekend and school nights. This was designed by a parent. You can then add site you don't want them to be able to access, Face book will be added if they don't behave !!!

All in all a nice piece of kit that connects to ADSL at a higher speed then my old routers, The wireless peed is very good 144MB from my wife's new laptop and has a well thought out access policy page designed for parents, save all the added hassle and expense of software based access controls. . Only minor niggle is cable management, Buy it you won't be disappointed.

Java Programming 24-Hour Trainer (Wrox Programmer to Programmer)
Java Programming 24-Hour Trainer (Wrox Programmer to Programmer)
by Yakov Fain
Edition: Paperback
Price: 29.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Seems a good book - but you'll need some programming knowledge, 21 Feb 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have a great interest in IT and have worked with DB3 and db4 so wanted to try Java programming - so got the book.

I wanted to understand it and hoped it would walk me through what to do in simple, jargon free language. This book is aimed at people new to programming but I did not see it as being aimed at basically a novice. I tried working through it but it did prove more complicated than I thought.

If you know programming and/or have prior Java experience then I would say it is worthwhile looking at as an option. I could not say further than that. If you are a novice then you may get lost so either look for something else or combine it with a course.

Three stars as I don't see it as a training guide for a novice but someone who already knows something about Java and/or programming

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for all sports photography - not just the Olympics, 21 Feb 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Books based or linked to an event can be tainted by people only thinking it is for that event and has a short shelf life. This book should be thought of as a book for photographers wanting to take action sports photos and not just for the Olympics.

It is a good book. It explains you don't need the top of the range kit for every photo. You need to think of lighting and other environmental conditions.

If you want to take sports photos then this is a good book. Not many will go to the Olympics and don't let the title put you off getting a good sports action photo book and look at it to improve all such photography.

200 Super Soups: Hamlyn All Colour Cookbook
200 Super Soups: Hamlyn All Colour Cookbook
by Sara Lewis
Edition: Paperback
Price: 4.34

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for soups!, 21 Feb 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The cookbook is clearly written and a handy size to use.

I like the presentation of one recipe/one picture which then makes them easy to follow.
The recipes are varied and give lots of good ideas. Output so far has been successful and tasty.

A good point is that the pages proved easy to wipe and anything is spilled.

If you want a small size cook book that you can follow then this is a very good option.

This is good for those making soups. I've tried a few and they are good to follow. I think making soup is a dying art so keep it going and get this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good security camera but not perfect, 18 Feb 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Overall it is a well made product and once set up is quite good but has some issues.

Positive
- good when set up. Just plug it into a power socket on wifi and it streams well
- good to use via a iphone app to view wherever you are
- the email set up is fiddly, need to use the web site, but then works fine

Negative
- setting it up is not overly easy. It froze twice and had to be re-set up again. The instructions to set it up are not simple to follow and I use a lot of tech' kit. Why is there not just a simple step by step guide and some idea on how long it takes when re-booting etc.
- it can't deal with looking out a window at night. The reflection from the infra-red makes it useless

Overall, as long as you are not planning to use it to look out of a window then it is a good solution. Well made, solid kit and once set up just works

4.0 out of 5 stars Quiet, light and easily manoeuvrable, 15 Jan 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Quiet, light and easily manoeuvrable. Powerful suction , but the exhaust blow out is fierce as well. I liked the fact that the handle folded down which makes it so much easier to carry up and down stairs and to store in a small space.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, 13 Jan 2012
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The headphone market is very congested so a product has to be good to stand out. I tend to be a Seinheisser person so a good benchmark

Positives
- nice colour
- seem well made
- good sound reproduction
- good price

Negatives
- has additional functionality to manage the player so that needs clear instructions
- sounds does not seem as clear as Seinheissers

Overall, a good product. For the price certainly worth getting but a few more quid could get you better overall value
